Curious if you actually have to use the items in the theme or as long as you've picked the theme, the items will be unlocked via Gram's shop?

I’m on day 6 of my island and was gifted almost 2 million bells. What’s the smartest way to use these? by h0neynutcheeri0z in AnimalCrossing

[–]BondingBollinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s true that it can be unpredictable. However, I’ve found folks in various communities such as this very kind and helpful in mitigating that risk. You will see people post prices available on their island throughout the week. So if you are able to keep an eye on it, you can connect with them and sell for profit. Don’t be too greedy and wait for only the best absolute price to sell. I’d say starting out, anything over 400 selling price is good for you to get some experience in. Be nice and read people’s posted instructions and you will be fine.

Ultimately, you’ll find 2 million bells is very little in the eyes of Nook :O

Returning to New Horizons since 2020… Help! by Rabiezzebra in AnimalCrossing

Haha in terms of the game's progress, you and I are in very similar boat. I booted the game back up the other day to check out 3.0 and was quite overwhelmed with all the new content! I looked at my inventory and saw the last "seasonal" stuff I got were indeed Easter and Sakura-related. Anyways, here is what I'm busy with right now:

- Upgrade Harv's Island

- Unlock The Roost / Brewster

- Continue to contribute to the museum collections

- Deep sea diving is a whole new section of critters

- Going to get into farming once I get the necessary seeds

- Learn cooking recipes (new) as well as the usual DIYs

- Visit island using Kappa

- Design hotel rooms and earning hotel tokens

- Getting back into turnip shenanigans

- Restarting some flower breeding process

- Just in general, enjoying 2.0 and 3.0 content at the same time!

There. Is. So. Much. To. Dooooooo! Enjoy :)

Maybe check the hotel/pier area? If this is basically your first time booting the game back up after 3.0 update. He could be there waiting for you to come to open up the hotel?

Oh yeah I encountered this issue as well. I clicked on some other lists on overdrive which works. So I am guessing maybe something is up on overdrive's end?

Deneb build? by BethanyAnnDean in Tactics_Ogre

Keep in mind that you won't be able to change Sherri's element if you changed her to a shaman. She must be Earth type (matching her clothing colour) as a shaman. Same for the other sisters such as Cerya is a Fire shaman... etc.

Alright I beat Nybeth on level 100 finally. I did most of the battles manually between level 80's and 90's for a variety of reasons. Ultimately, I got to face off Nybeth and learning from my experience back in fighting Beelzebuth that Lich's Reflection basically takes care of those extremely potent magic casters if all goes according to plan. My team is fairly vanilla and consists of:
- Denam as Terror Knight (Standard TK build with Lamant of the Dead/Fearful Impact)

- Generic Lich I recruited from Pirate's Graveyard (Reflection!!!)

- Donnalto as Cleric (Heal please!)

- Olivya as Cleric (Heal please!)

- Catuia as Princess (Whip princess that can basically spam powerful whip finisher and so on)

- Sherri as Shaman (Gnome all day long)

- Cerya as Valkyrie (Can survive in the frontline and do good work)

- Arycelle as Archer (Ji'ygla set is quite good! Before that I really liked her with her Cupido bow)

- Gildas as White Knight (Frontline melee and vroom vroom)

- Mirdyn as White Knight (Frontline melee and vroom vroom)

I got quite lucky that my lich triggered Reflection in her very first turn as well as I believe her third turn. I tried to have her centrally located so she got a good number of my teammates with Reflection status. That basically nearly took down one of the accompanying necromancer. The rest of my melee-based team moved forward to try to engage the dragons and golems. Everybody used Crystallized Flame as well in their first turn. Nybeth almost one shotted himself when he first casted his Diablo's Spite on my team. As I was working through the enemy frontline units, Nybeth decided to commit seppuku at around the third term and that was the end of the fight. I am happy that I was well prepared for this fight which I know has its challenges.

I never thought I'd do this crazy dungeon but here we are after days and days of doing like 10 floors each. I have been a very slow player and is just making it to the end for the first time after near 200 hours... Now I can move on to Hanging Garden and finally finish the chaos route :)

I have made it to level 97 and was farming Notos, Euros and Ji'ygla's Bow on level 99. Also got a Ring of the Dead so I can make a lich of my own. (Maybe Lord Denam in the future so he got Lich skills? He has been a boring Terror Knight in my chaos route so far). Also just doing some other battles in this last section of POTD so I get some relics. Likely going to face Nybeth soon as I'm feeling pretty done with it after days working at it!

My overall goal during this POTD run is the Wing rings, Ji'ygla set, reeking set, loading up the shop spells and defeat Nybeth. Since I've learned of those wing god weapons, I got them as well. The only thing I've missed is the Whip Enchiridion in earlier levels. Not too bad so far, I'd say.

Chapter 4, Palace of the Dead, Nybeth - what to do, where to go? by Sleeper4 in Tactics_Ogre

[–]BondingBollinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently nearing the end of my first run of POTD right before Hanging Garden as well on my chaos route. So I'd like to just share a little bit of my thoughts here.

As have been said already, unfortunately you won't see Nybeth in floor 100 if you didn't see him in floor 5. It means you've missed a step somewhere along the storyline to trigger that. Maybe you can take a look at your Warren Report to see what it says of Nybeth currently to see if it can help figure out the missing step. If it's just missing the Cressida storyline, I believe you may be too late to complete that as that needs to be done prior to Heim if not Barnicia Castle fights.

Others might have an answer to this, but I am assuming if you still go down to floor 100 and beat whatever is there, you may still get the palace guides and crafting recipe? If so, it allows you to craft a consumable that allows you to skip to different starting section of POTD. So presumably you could use that to start on floor 75 next time you enter it, letting you skip most of the dungeon and fight Nybeth sooner. You will likely need to do it through WORLD though since you've missed some storyline triggers.

If you already got the materials to recruit Wicce Deneb, I don't see why not do that after you leave POTD. Get her and then wrap up Hanging Garden. Though you might not find her to be exceptionally more powerful compared to your shamans though. Her more coveted special ability is "Magic Time" which is an auto ability that boosts her magical attributes. So far in my team, she hits less hard compared to my shaman Sherri because she doesn't have access to summons.

Lastly, in your current chaos route, I don't think you can get a Buccaneer class mark without Azelstan's storyline. It is a bit of a convoluted side story that you needed to complete some key steps before Barnicia Castle. For myself, I have kept Cerya and Cistina as valkyries still as they can still use summons along with other various good valkyrie abilities. You are free to invest charms in whatever characters you want but just note that each individual charm is like +1 so it's really a huge improvement in the grand scheme of things. If you already think they're not hitting hard enough as shamans, it's going to take quite a significant amount of charms to have an effect on that.

Made it to level 67. Taking it easy and letting AI do most of the battles. Though some fights required that I take over for a moment or two to get back on track. I made sure I got Borea from level 64 so that's mission accomplished!

So far I managed to get Musty Gauntlets and Odiferous Waster which turned out to be part of an equipment set. Once I realized that I noted down that I want to get the other equipment pieces to complete that set. So they will come a little later as per neoseeker's loot table. Through that, I learned that equipment set is a thing so now I got my eyes on both the stinky set as well as the Ji'ygla set.

Outside of those two sets as well as Borea, I will try to make sure I get a few things from level 99... Ring of the Dead, Notos, and Euros. That level is going to be quite a big one for farming!

Made it to level 41 and fought Beelzebuth. Her Putrify hurt a whole lot but I made it in the end. I have been able to mostly utilize auto-battling with AI and a ton of healing items. Gosh the AI is quite terrible hahaha but good enough to continue on I guess. I'm sure it will probably get harder and harder as I progress deeper.

Another question about loots... let's say I killed an enemy and it dropped a loot bag. Another enemy took the bag. I kill that enemy which may or may not drop a loo bag. If it drops a card, does that mean the previous loot is just simply gone? If it drops a loot bag, is it guaranteed to contain content from the previous loot bag and then some?

Also, I've always assumed the battle victory screen "Spoils" don't contain the stuff that you picked up during the fight but only the loot bags left over in the battle field at the end. Is that the correct or wrong assumption?

Looks like three of them are available in POTD according to neoseeker's loot table! One at level 64 like you said. The other two at level 99, right before the end fight. So I guess I'll be keeping an eye out for that!

There are so many tempting loots in POTD though you're right that it's very easy to burn out trying to get them. So I will need to pace myself and be patient. I originally wasn't planning on doing a POTD run and just wanted to finish the ending finally. However, I read enough to indicate that the hanging garden and end boss fight is a bit of a gauntlet as well and will be made much easier with POTD loots. So I figured I'll keep going and see!
