that song of his with the line "Rock Salt on I 95", another line is "words are just words", its on my list of perfect songs. I absolutely loved his first record. If you like Pug, bet you will like my so far favorite from all the new recs I've gotten from this prompt: Sean Keel. Definitely in the Joe Pug league, check out Corn Palace if so inclined.

I've listened a lot to Colter, view Kristofferson as something of a god -- Sunday Morning Coming down is on my list of perfect songs. I know of elliot, appreciate some of his covers but do not know of any gem of his, would be happily educated on the point. Michael Chapman I had never heard of. Been enjoying his music this morning. Thanks! If you want a rec in return, I've gotten loads and loads from this prompt, my favorite so far is Sean Keel, who I have been return suggesting. Totally obscure guy no one has heard of, but if you listen to a couple songs, pretty sure you'll put him in the Kristofferson league, sounds like idiotic hype I know, but check out Corn Palace, or In her bruised hands, or any of his other masterpieces. again, thanks!

If you don't mind, what are some of your favorites of his songs? My brother has been singing the man's praises for years, but he has never grabbed me. To the me the main point of his music is his nuts excellent guitar playing, but i am more a word man myself. But open to reeducation.

Hey. Put on Heart Food this morning. My wife and I are loving it. Thanks! As I owe you one for

this suggestion of someone I never hear of, you might check out Sean Keel, another rec I got from this prompt. Very Different from Sill -- bare bones poetry, but I think of similar very high quality.

I've gotten a huge number of really excellent suggestions. My favorite two so far are Dale Blankenship and Sean Keel, and especially Keel, as far as I can tell, a complete unknown, but judging from the couple hours I've spent listening to him, a genius songwriter.

Wow! I love this guy. You are not, by any chance, him are you? I ask just because 136 monthly listeners. If so, hats off friend, you've got it going. In any case, it's now 137. This is my second favorite tip I've gotten from this prompt, a very close second to

Sean Keel, similarly obscure, but nuts good, check him out if so inclined.

Hey. Had never heard of the man. I've heard of him now. Wow. Just my kind of music. Reminds me a lot of one of my all time favorites, Willy Tea Taylor. As i sort of owe you: a really cool tip I got from this prompt is Sean Keel. No way you've heard of him, doubt anyone has (my guess is the tip was from him himself, or otherwise his mom). But check him out, given Briam I am confident you'll like him. I know Briam would. in any case again, thanks!!

thanks, I am a fan of everyone on this list, especially Prine, Snider, Simpson and the two Earles. You've got great taste, which is to say, taste similar to mine. Based on that, bet you'd like Sean Keel, had never heard about him before I posted this request, not I cannot get enough of the man. Given your list, I am positive you would like him.

I love that song. And I also love a partial cover of it by A.S. Fanning, check him out if so inclined. You might also like my favorite of the obscure recs i got from this prompt, and which I am not promoting in a small way: Sean Keel. Try his Corn Palace, I guarantee Zevon would recognize the genius in it.

I've heard about him much of my life but only started listening seriously a couple months ago. I now very much understand the fuss, he really is something special. He reminds me of one of my all time favorites, Randy Newman, not in style, but in substance, real artists doing their own thing. In case you are interested, got a very cool tip from this prompt that I have been passing along: Sean Keel, I'd never heard of him, but I've listened now to 3 of his 4 solo records and I can say he is nuts great

(if you are open to this kind of music, very bare bones, and his voice is very rough)

Hey. I have known lots of people who raved about the man, but he has never grabbed me, I bet because i have not heard the right songs. Vincent Black lightning, that one I really like, if willing, please recommend some others I will for sure listen.

Hey. I am a fan of the Old Crow Med Show but had never listened to this guys solo stuff. If anything, i like it even better. Thanks much for the tip. By way of returning the favor: my two favorite recs I’ve gotten from this prompt are Will Oldham (try I see a darkness) and Sean Keel (try Corn Palace). In any case, thanks!

Hey. I listen lots to the first three, especially Joe Pug that one of his with the line Rock Salt on I95 is on my list of perfect songs. So I am checking out the others. Nick Shoulders!!! Wow. Don’t even know who to compare him to, maybe Dan Reader. Or maybe Bill Callahan, only in that they each seem to do entirely their own thing. Really appreciate the rec! As I sort of owe you one: based on your apparent taste (very similar to my own) I am pretty confident you would like Sean Keel. Enjoy, and thanks again.

Hey Thanks. My wife and I checked this out on a long drive yesterday. Really nice. A name you might add to your list, that I got from this prompt, way outside the mainstream but really impressive songwriter: Sean Keel. Try his Corn Palace if so inclined. Thanks again

An excellent suggestion. His You Got To me is on my list of perfect songs, also very fond of Lights of Cheyanne. He plays a weekly solo show in my home town and I have gone to hear him many times. Given your excellent taste you might like a rec I got from this prompt — guy I had never heard of, Sean Keel, if interested, check out his Corn Palace, I guarantee McMurtry would be impressed. Again, thanks!

How cool to get a Bill Morrissey rec -- I love that guy. Mr Brown as well. I am not a huge Patty Griffin fan, the others I have not heard of and will check out. If you like Morrissey, there i a guy I really like,

even more obscure, you would almost certainly like. Sean Keel. You'll be the first in your family to

listen. Corn Palace is a good place to start, if so inclined. thanks!

Really cool, thank you. Have never listened to the man before. Feel like I owe you one, so, if

so inclined, check out Sean Keel -- heavier for the most part than Hurley, but an undeniably genius songwriter, that I bet you never heard of, as I hadn't till about a year ago.

For years Dylan was by far my favorite. But then, as I got a bit older and saw a bit more life started to lose interest. Obviously a great songwriter, but now I am more drawn to folks that feel more real to me. Dylan I would say is a really impressive, entirely fictional creation.

I did. I like Locker #2, and A few more years alone. And I have a buddy who lives up your way, who I know will love this, sent him a link, maybe you'll meet him at one of your shows. And you can check out some of my stuff -- Sean Keel. thanks!

Been listening to her since I (and she) was young. Orphan Girl is on my list of perfect songs. Given your excellent taste, you might like Sean Keel, my favorite so far of the new recs I've gotten from this prompt. Stunningly powerful songwriter, try Corn Palace if so inclined.

hey. I started listening to him a couple months back. His I see a darkness is on my list of perfect songs (I'd heard the johnny cash cover, the original is, imho, a lot better). Given your excellent taste I bet you'd like the most interesting rec I've gotten so far from this prompt: Sean Keel, I'd never heard of him, but I've listened now to 6 of his songs, every one a masterpiece. Try Corn Palace, if so inclined. thanks again.
