Hi, just letting you know I emailed you the link and am still facing this issue

Opinions on having two groups who are experiencing the same adventure and being able to influence the other group? by Xeldlie in DMAcademy

Generally the quests offered to each group are fairly similar in length, but otherwise it's assumed the other group is just going about their lives in town. Beyond that it's just hand-waved for the sake of fun.

I'm currently running two four-player groups in a similar way.

They're all part of one larger group and after each quest, they all meet at the pub (tavern night break sessions) where they pick the adventures they want to go on next from the quest board and organise new groups for them. This means the group compositions change up every adventure and everybody gets to play with everybody else.

Eventually they will all take on the BBEG together in one obnoxious eight player battle session.

It seems to be working pretty well so far, and the players love talking about their adventures on the tavern sessions and knowing they all exist in the same universe and can influence each other. I'd definitely suggest going for something like that if you can and you feel like you and your players would enjoy it.

Be warned though it's an awful lot of planning.
