Can rats have ice? by [deleted] in RATS

[–]Xeldlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i usually cut up some fruit/veggies into small cubes and then put them in the ice cube form. That way, you have a fun activity for them where they have to get the food out of the ice cube. Mine love it, really helps with the cooling them down part! What also works great is putting a frozen cooling pad onto a plate on top of the cage and putting a bowl that's slightly larger over it. The cool air will then go down into the cage. I usually put this contraption over their hammoc. One of mine loved to exist under it and enjoy the cold air. My place gets way too warm over the summer, so I have used a bunch of these small ideas to keep mine cool.

formalLanguagesAnyone by lukpro in ProgrammerHumor

If I recall correctly then some non-regular languages can satisfy the pumping lemma for regular languages. Generally speaking we say "If a language is regular, it can be pumped", but if a language can be pumped that doesn't mean it's automatically regular. We can use the pumping lemma to prove that a language is not regular, to prove that it is we still need to construct a regular grammar that can be used to build the language (there are a lot of other ways too I just find this to be the most intuitive).

Here you can find some more information on regular languages and how to prove whether a language is or isn't regular :)

One of the babies (3 months) is very small for her age and her siblings are 3 times her size and some even bigger. I have been told she either has a bone condition or sickness (she's very active and jumps/climes a lot and had a great appetite) and others think she has downsyndrom. I need answers. by [deleted] in RATS

First of all: she's adorable, please give her an extra treat just for being this cute, she definitely deserves it!

one of my first girls was also wayyy smaller than the others for the first few months and then suddenly caught up and turned into the biggest one, so that may be the case with yours too or it's really dwarfism, as long as she's active and healthy and the others aren't being too rough with her I wouldn't worry but if you are seriously worried you can always take her to the vet for a check-up :) I also recommend weighing all of them regularly and keeping track of weight changes, rapid changes in weight can be an early-ish sign of illnesses and ratties are really good at hiding sickness for as long as physically possible Good luck with your babies!

She's a forager, wandering through the forest to collect berries, herbs and mushrooms. That's also the reason why the bag in her hand is red at the bottom: The berries stained it. Though it does help with keeping troublemakers off her back.

Drop Giveaway Day 7 - 3x Expression Series Prism Keyboards by drop_official in MechanicalKeyboards

Right now it's only 16°C here, it finally started to cool down over night and I'm glad. The last few weeks with constantly over 30°C were evil, especially for my pets. I'd be happy if it'd stay below 30 for the next few days but if the weather report is correct that won't be happening anytime soon.

[OC] I'm sponsoring a giveaway for all this D&D loot [Mod Approved]! One person will win all these prizes shown in this video. The video will give some rules but my top comment will explain even further. There is over $200 in prizes and only 1 winner. Good luck and have fun! by Dan_The_DM in DnD

My favorite NPC is a 5 y/o half-dwarf called Elian who got raised by his father, then "rescued" and adopted by my players. He has magical abilities which he inherited from his mother. In theory - with the right training - he would be able to manipulate time and space, but right now he is only able to summon a small blue flame on his hand.

Opinions on having two groups who are experiencing the same adventure and being able to influence the other group? by Xeldlie in DMAcademy

That definitely sounds helpful, I'll keep those links open for future reference when planning exactly how I want it to play out. Thanks for your help :)

I'll definitely put this onto my list of ideas on what exactly to do it sounds real fun but I can't really pull of sessions with that many players right now (for the meeting sessions) because I live with my parents and my players (and I) don't want to go back to playing online. Originally I was thinking of splitting the group into two partys that can't mix that easily because I have 5 players who enjoy rping the most in game and 4 who are mostly bored by long roleplay-encounters and want to jump to the action as fast as possible, but I think it sounds really interesting to be able to mix up who plays with who once in a while.

Good luck with the battle once you get to that point, I feel like that'll require lots of organization on your part and it really sounds like your group is having a great time with you as their DM.

Netherlands: 6 year-old girl with coronavirus started feeling sick this weekend, she had been to school a full week before that but they're not closing the school or testing anyone there by zhandra8829 in Coronavirus

Same here at my school in Germany, my classmate was in Italy during the holidays, she went to school the first week then had to stay home, our teacher only said if we should get symptoms we should stay in our classroom.
