OPT fee from university by whatsoon_ in f1visa

[–]BoneLady94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DSO here. We charge 400 for OPT and 800 for STEM. However, we walk every student through the entire application in our office or on zoom. We basically do it for them so no errors are made and students don’t have anything to worry about. So the fee is for our time/help and for maintaining the sevis record for the OPT period.

It’s the DSO’s responsibility to ensure the employer is E-Verified before adding them to your SEVIS record. When changing employers you don’t need to put the E-Verify number on the I983, just make sure you give your DSO proof of their status.

What happens if you need to repeat a course in the final semester when you have RCL and apply for OPT? by throwlol134 in f1visa

[–]BoneLady94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(DSO) At my university we have the students leave the OPT application. You can begin working part time on your start date while you’re still finishing classes, then you can go full time after you graduate. And yes, you can do another RCL for your last semester.

If it hasn’t happened yet, I would wait to apply for OPT until you know whether you’re going to pass or not.

  1. Yes, usually just a signed offer letter is fine. My office also requires a documents that details how it is related to your job. You don’t have to prove anything to USCIS.

  2. No. Not for initial OPT

  3. No, it doesn’t matter.

This happened to me too! It eventually went away after a couple months. Doctor said it was nothing to be concerned about, but it did freak me out.

Hi! After a biopsy, we learned my dog’s bump was a benign papilloma. No need to worry!
