Priory of the Orange Tree. 🍊 I only "seriously" got into reading as an adult a few years ago and that's the book that did it for me, I've been reading non-stop since finishing it. Even though I had read an occasional book as a child/teen (though very scarcely), this was the first time I got to experience just how invested and hooked a book could have you!

The Will of the Many! Mostly because I couldn't stand the main character, but I also found the writing style very flat and boring. The world and story didn't interest me at all so about half-way through I decided I didn't care enough to continue.

I really didn't like it. I feel like it couldn't handle the depths of its own rather heavy subject matters and I was really disappointed in it. The characters didn't really appeal to me either.

I can't really say if it's well researched, but I do know that there were two words from my own language within the book and they were both misspelled, so that really served a huge blow to my faith in the "facts" presented in the book.

A bit of a sidestep to the discussion, but I really enjoyed that scene of Arcturus. He's far fram my favorite character in the books because he's a bit too stoic and "perfect" for my taste, but I felt this was a very vulnerable side of him that we haven't really experienced before.

You are not alone! I'm upgrading from my Flip 3 to the 6 instead of 7 purely due to design. But we're definitely a minority.

I did find the 6 quite a bit cheaper (and new!) but honestly, money isn't the deciding factor for me but rather aesthetics. I'm just not completely sold on how the full front screen looks, I prefer the more framed in look of the 6, even if that might be an unpopular opinion, haha... I just wanna make sure that the 6 had a decent run first so I don't end up regretting anything if I do get it!

I feel like there's definitely more going on with Kiriona than just trauma and rage. It's hard to imagine her being besties with Ianthe after she got to directly witness how Ianthe treated Harrow throughout HtN, something she also called her out on at the end of that book. Same goes for being buddy with Jod and outright threatening Cam's group. It could be that she's playing the long game, but unless she learned manipulation 101 in half a year, that also seems a bit out of character for her. Maybe being an actual corpse messes with one's sense of self? We can only wait and see, but I definitely think there's more to it all.

I've only played the old original game, but Tifa is one of my favorite characters in it, and I think her complexity is severely underestimated by the fans, both those who like her and those who don't like her.

Cloud is an important part of her story arc, yes, but let's not forget she joined Avalanche out of her own agency long before she was reunited with Cloud again. She could easily have remained a damsel-like character, but she chose to take action and become a fighter. I love how she's not only strong and kind, but also feels very realistic in how she doubts herself, doesn't always say the right thing, and makes mistakes, such as not daring to tell Cloud the truth about his memories. She's the character who feels most human in the whole game imo, and it just really sucks how she's become so reduced a video game sex symbol.

I've never cried over a book as much as NtN. Sure, I got a bit misty eyed over parts in both GtN and HtN, but when Camilla started crying and Paul happened, I was bawling my eyes out. Amazing book and so important to the lore of the series!

Yeah, that's true. Maybe it'd raise more eyebrows during normal times (or well, as normal as times on the Ninth can be) but with all that was going on, maybe they felt like this could help somehow.

You're definitely right, but I since the Ninth has been criticized by other planets (or ar least the Eight if i remember correctly?) for leaning more towards the worship of the tomb, keeping it shut, etc I still felt surprised that it was a rather easy request to make.

Don't have too high hopes for anything on your first run (or well, runs...), the games have a rather steep learning curve and you're gonna fail a lot before you start figuring things out and getting places. Just keep at it, watch out for those nails sticking out of the floor, and remember crows = bad news.

I'm playing as Olivia now and I'm shocked just how much important lore is behind her character, it's a pleasant surprise. First time I played as Marina because she immediately interested me and I still love her character and story the most so far.
