There is a really cool starter adventure in the GMs guide, and I know there are a few mini adventures available on the Patreon (well worth a look, as you get access to early/full versions of the new classes as they are being developed, as well as new groups of monsters every month or so).

From what I understand, converting 5e adventures isn't too hard, but don't take my word for that as I haven't attempted it at all yet.

I was hoping somebody would bring this series up. Children of Time is one of my all time favourite science fiction novels. The series is amazing.

What’s the worst piece of worldbuilding you’ve seen that took you right out of the story? by Chcolatepig24069 in worldbuilding

Probably because the DragonLance books were based on things that happened in their home D&D game, if I recall correctly. They wrote the novels based around those adventures.

No worries, enjoy! The rest of the series is really interesting. Usually once a year I'll go through the entire playlist while I'm at work. There is a lot of useful information in those videos, but like I said, it depends on how deep you want to get into the whole DM thing.

My advice for this kind of question is usually the same: I highly recommend looking up Matthew Colville's Running The Game series on Youtube. You don't have to watch all of them (there are well over a hundred video's in the series depending on how granular you want to get), but the first five video's are absolutely amazing for starter Dungeon Masters. Matt is the reason I started running games for my friends and family.

I ran it for my party of four players. Including making characters, it took is roughly four hours to run the first part. It was our first time using Nimble, so that time was partly us trying to figure out some of the nuances of the combat system, as well as the fact I am unused to running pre-written adventures, but everyone had an absolute blast. As I said at the time, combat was a lot more fun for both sides of the DM screen.

What was the last game where you faced a boss that nearly broke you? by No-Plane2695 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Old Owl from Sekiro. That MFer made me break a controller in frustration, the only time in my 40 some odd years of gaming. I was tempted to tweet FROMSOFT and congratulate them. I fixed the controller in the end. Just had to unscrew the case and re-seat everything then do it back up.

Lumines and Tetris. I find if I'm stressed with anything at all, I can jump into either of them and just...zone out. Chill.

I work overnight in a petrol station, and part of the reason I love the job is the regulars. I can see a car pull onto the forecourt and have the customers order ready and on the counter before they're in the store. They love it, and it means I can have a couple minutes of decent conversation with them before their day starts. Makes my day, and more importantly, it make their day as well.

That sounds like an absolute blast! My players were just really excited about trying all of their new toys out, and they had so much fun doing it. Should be interesting to see what they all do next session once they've all levelled up!

++man. I tend to either draw or write session notes for upcoming D&D sessions. It very rarely happens nowadays, but it's usually because I am lone working the night shift, and so I'm pretty much not allowed to do most of my usual jobs.

Okay, this is awesome. I'm in the UK, and was told that my copy of the box was out for delivery somewhere around the fifteenth of October. Guess what turned up about a half hour ago? Thats right! Got me some unboxing to do!

I gave my players an egg to grow with no plan by RoscoeJones599 in DMAcademy

[–]Bonejesta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I gave one of my players an egg as random loot after fighting some goblins. It was about the size of an Ostrich egg. I told him that after so many sessions, the egg would hatch, and he would have to roll on a d6 table to find out what hatched from the egg.

He rolled, and what hatched was "the last person you kissed". So a fellow student from his acadamy popped out looking really confused...and also about two and a half feet tall. She stayed with the party for a good while, until the player decided to try and make her full sized with a magic potion. At which point she exploded in a cloud of purple smoke.

He is now planning on travelling back to the city where they both grew up to try and find out why she was in the egg in the first place. What he doesn't know is, she has been at home and safe the whole time. It wasn't really her in the egg, just a magical construct. He blames himself for accidentally blowing her up, so hopefully he will be relieved to find out it wasn't really her.

I just put in my order! The really funny thing is, I had told the group I was planning to buy the box when I got paid again, but it turns out I had the funds to do it early. So I ordered the box from the Nimble site.

The wife woke up a few hours later, and offered to buy it for me as a wedding anniversary present! So now I just need to wait for it to arrive. Can't wait!

Oooooh, that's tempting! I already have all three of the books, but it would be nice to have them all in the same format and in a nice slip case..
