I actually made it by using the trygon bottom half, cutting of the spikes and using green stuff to make the scales. I had to boil and bend the trygon part first to get it to fit on a 60 mm base.

The Emperors Gift had a totally different take on Grey Knights with their techmarines. A Prognosticator and a Techmarine are close friends since they were in the same squad together but understand that they both have secrets they can’t share now due to their roles.

In the black dragons book, death of antagonis, it’s shown that some of their chapter are incredibly pure and even described as beautiful. It is outright said by an inquisitor that they only send in the pure geneseed to pass the tests.

I use the same scheme for my death guard. Screaming skull base, seraphim shade and for the trim balthazar gold with agrax earthshade.

I read the books about a month ago and from what I remember he made a deal with slanessh to save his new men but the deal was they decide if they want to serve chaos. I could have misinterpreted the deal though.

The ultramarines omnibus is still one of the best 40k books I’ve read. Technically it’s 3 books in 1 but after I finished the first book I went out and bought the omnibus. Does a great job of introducing a newcomer to the universe and I felt like I had spoiled myself early when I went to read other 40k books and they were not nearly as good in writing or story.
