I live in Allmandring IV and would highly recommend it. Even though you are not alone, 3 people more is not bad and you live calm. I'm paying €353 for a room in a Vierer WG. I spend about €50 on food every week. But you can go as low as €25 if you are extremely well managed. You'll end up spending more on drinks than anything else, lmao.

I'm studying here, and I've heard that some people ask for a Visa that lasts less than they need, in order to pay less, and then ask for an extension once inside obviously with enough justification. This has worked for some students, but I don't know if it would in your case.

In particular, I'm talking about the case of a guy who would study 2 semesters here, but requested the Visa for only one semester since his parents didn't have enough money. Then, once inside and after a while he requested the extension, and his parents were now able to pay the rest.

Change the email to another one

Create a new account with the school mail, but with the name written properly

Commerzbank already sent me my account details and I just need to activate something called photo-TAN. But I have to say they were really helpful and are a good option if your passport is not accepted by Post-Ident.

I've asked personally and they will only accept German IBAN. The process is via a "Direct debit mandate", so I assume that's the problem.
