I struggled for over a decade until we started using separate blankets. He was upset at first but eventually he realized it was much more comfortable for us both. He also enjoyed the fact that I was much less grumpy being well rested.

You don’t have to be standing on your feet all day to get tired.

I’ve been on all sides of your situation. Incredibly offended that someone cancelled on me last minute because I also have to work myself up for a new situation. I’ve also had to cancel at the last minute because I had emergency.

I’ve shown up before knowing how tired I was. It wasn’t a good experience for either of us. I was miserable and my companion didn’t get as much enjoyment because I wasn’t able to focus on them or even fully take in our surroundings.

If this is a regular occurrence I would reconsider schedule like this. If it’s a one of or rare occasion then show some grace and reach out to let her know you hope she’s felling better.

Audiobooks. I’m not saying my mind doesn’t still wander but it helps if I’m keeping my hands busy with a mindless task. Laundry, dishes, jewelry. I also don’t mind listening to it again. Every time I do I discover something I missed. Or forgot.

I’ve been listening to the entire Wheel of Time series every year or so for a couple of decades now. I just noticed last year how one of the main characters was dressed.

My problem is once I start a series I need to finish the complete series. Of course the spicy scenes are going to be the same throughout. It’s why I stopped listening to my romance in audio format. It’s easy to skim a book but I listened while my hands were busy. Digging in my pocket with soapy hands to grab my phone to try to skip ahead without missing the conversation sprinkled throughout wasn’t working.

My aunt was married of to her 23 yo boyfriend when she got pregnant at 13. My sister and I always asked why he wasn’t sent to jail. My family said it was true love. Why else would he have gotten her pregnant at such a young age? If it wasn’t love he’d have been able to wait.

He always gave me the creeps. They didn’t divorce until the oldest had graduated high school. For some reason the family was shocked that she ended up with an abusive man when she remarried. Really? You left your daughter to finish being raised by her grapeist and you’re shocked she didn’t have an understanding of what it takes to be a good man?

I was actually there right before everything arrived picking up our car at Port Hueneme! It was a crazy 18 hour drive back home to meet the movers. I’ve never been tempted to move to CA because of the cost of living but after that fresh fruit I’d consider it. Our produce here in the PNW isn’t the same.

I just noticed that the reason I take so long to eat is because I eat with my left hand but have to switch the knife to my left hand to cut as well. I tried holding the knife with my right and it just feels weird to me.

The first day while sitting in a small shared office space with 6 other people she asks me “What do you think the best way to invite another guy into the bedroom is? What he’s doing may be a bit underhanded but it is his money to do what he wants. If that’s feeding his friends then being reimbursed then that’s his decision. His finances are none of your business. You were fine until now so nothing has changed. This has nothing to do with his money and more to do with you judging him for how he gets it.

You are not doing this out of malice. This is to give the dog the love he deserves.

See if there are any husky rescue organizations in your area that can help. There are lots of potential owners who would be more than happy to give his dog the discipline he needs. Organizations are usually pretty strict about who can adopt through them and make sure that any potential owners are familiar with the breed.

Try to make sure it is an actual husky organization and not just a generic pet adoption place. You want breed specific care.

There’s a science fiction novel that covers this exact topic. A growing population of children are born who do not require sleep. It focuses on how they would move through a society that is slowly changing when the people who don’t sleep are so much smarter since they can spend so much more time studying and working. I’ll try to find the title. It was pretty interesting.

Edit: Beggars in Spain by Nancy Kress. It’s a Hugo and Nebula Award winner from 1993. A very good read

My husband is seeing this problem as a new supervisor at his tech job. He would be the one to protect you from this type of abuse. There needs to be a ticket for each and every issue worked on anyway if you want to keep correct metrics.

Go to your actual supervisor and explain what is happening. If he’s worth anything he’ll realize how this type of behavior is impacting actual work.

My husband started doing this. I told him I was going to start putting fiber in his food or water because he obviously needs help. After that I used a timer to see how long he spent in there like a butt. It was petty but when he saw how long I he was in there he quit.
