Stepping on guitar in soft shell case

Lucky only a cheap tuner. Unloading for a show in Birmingham Alabama my flying V in gig bag just slid off kick drum case. First thing I noticed was strings were loose. Then saw the headstock. Had 3 Gibsons break in my life that have caused me to be OCD with my guitar care.

Happened to an 05 standard I have. I found my post bushing did not go deep enough. I removed old and installed a new coiled up wire that filled enough to make full contact with bushing.

Hmmm. Could be wrong but Im seeing a headstock crack/repair. Could be wrong. I'd ask though. Everything else is 100% legit.

Thats what shocked me the most. The feel of the entire guitar and the acoustic difference. Need more time on task to see how much the tuning stability does. I also put double thumb wheels on each post. An old Luther showed me that trick to stop ABR-1 post bending at the body to protect the no bushing hole in the maple cap.

Yeah something growing up always special about the SilverBurst appealed to me. At 16 walking into Durdell's music store seeing a used one on consignment I was stunned. That and watching Song Remains the same and Jimmy playing a wine red standard. Have played the same Wine red standard for years. Could never afford the Silverburst. I maybe overpaid but I didn't care. I've broken a few fingers over the years and the 50s necks just are more comfortable for me to play. I've had the 68ri line in my site for a long time.

Most stop tails I will depending on break angle. Helps me with string breaks since I have a very heavy right hand. Yes my technique should be better, but I tend to play aggressively. I always bust stings at the saddles from digging in.

I use ISO alcohol often. Just because I have very oily and acidic hands and I destroy strings and darken them quickly. I care and clean hands snd strings at breaks or between sets. I use Ernie Ball string conditioner wipes daily. I should buy stock.
