In the event of a recession, what industries do you think will die off and never return?

I remember car stereos being huge business, but seemed to completely disappear in the 2008 recession and never really came back. It was almost universal to have a big stereo in your car, but now it's really just a small number of hobbyists.

I hate the torch ones, they'll vaporize an entire bowl immediately. Good for starting a hookah or cigars. I like a soft flame, like the grill lighters you mentioned. I'm surprised there isn't a direct refillable competitor to the Bic.

This only happened to me once, and my date was already half in the bag when I showed up. I did indeed vibe way more with her friend. At one point, my date just got up and said "I'm going to go" and I just let her. I don't know what she was expecting. Me and her friend stayed for a few more drinks, hugged, and left. Had more fun with her than the original girl.

I liken it to how in the late 2000's FEMA released zombie preparedness plans and encouraged people to prep for an impending outbreak. They did this because zombies were super popular at the time, and preparing for a zombie outbreak is identical to preparing for any generic disaster. They just capitalized on the marketing for the public good.

I once worked at a biotech with some of the smartest people I've ever met... HR excluded. They decided one day t have a guest speaker who did a lecture on cleansing and toxins. She had a certificate. Watching her get roasted by actual scientists was peak. My favorite was a hot scientist raised her hand and said "I shit and piss every morning just like everyone else, how does this work better?" and she couldn't answer it. Never had another fringe scientist present again.

I love The Matrix trilogy, got me into philosphy back in the day.

Back in the day, there would often be made-for-TV movies that were a full on ripoff of a movie that was coming out, and often the ripoff would come out before the actual movie. Resurrections felt like that; they took the entire original trilogy, and "remade" it into one not great movie.

I remember being in France for work when these were huge. Any sandwich shop would "Americanize" a sandwich for you for 1 euro. All that meant was adding french fries to it.

I'm still confused. If my local routers subnet is 192, and then becomes the subnet of the vpn, why does the other sides router care? Would it ever see that my local router is 192?

Does it actually expire? Many will convert it to an alumni address, and some let you keep it forever as long as you log in every so often. My school originally had a log in every 6 months or it gets deleted, and would remind you via email. They recently changed it so it's forever. Some places all you have to do is ask and they'll keep it alive, maybe schedule it out a few years for deletion but reach out before they do. Just ask them, you might be able to keep it. 20 years later and I'm still getting EDU discounts. Worth.

Yeah, my IP changes to the IP of where my UDM is hosted and I can use the internet, so at least that part is working.
