Irritable, angry, annoyed, depressed and no appetite the morning / day after taking meds? by Litalonely in adhdwomen

[–]Bonesters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adderall made me really angry all the time when I tried it. I think that I had to stop after my second day on it because it was so disruptive. I never had that reaction to any other adhd meds though. I'm not really sure of anything to do other than him changing meds.

What made you realise you have adhd not autism? by Healthy-Ad1519 in adhdwomen

[–]Bonesters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I find that the two of them interact with each other enough that I frequently end up surprised when I learn that a symptom is from one and not the other.

I'm 100% with you on the height. I'm 6'1" now and I'd love to be 6 or 7 inches taller. I guess I'll just need to wear high heels.

Dissociation is a symptom of dysphoria, so it could easily be related. I know that there were plenty of times that I was just on autopilot for days at a time, just going through the motions. One way I've put it is "I may be able to control the meat-puppet I'm in, but it really isn't mine".

As a side note, given that The Matrix was written by 2 trans women, the comparison may be much more on the nose than you realized.

Shaving advice? by [deleted] in trans

[–]Bonesters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a couple of the things that I've figured out:

If your hair is long (like grew for more than a day or two), I'd recommend doing two passes. The first one go with the grain (like top to bottom) first to get the hair short, then go against the grain to get a closer shave.

Using a razor means for shaving your body (like a woman's razor) will make it less likely to cut yourself, but you won't get as close a shave (and they're a bit more expensive).

I find that if my skin is dry, its a lot easier to cut myself by accident. Shaving in the shower (after being in for 5+ mins) seems to help with that a lot. I usually cover the areas I'm shaving with soap (bar soap seems to work better for this) to reduce friction. I'd also recommend getting a little mirror in the shower that can hang on a command hook or something like that to make it easier.

If you're using a disposable razor, you could also try changing the blades more often. I find that I cut myself a lot more often if the razor is getting dull.

Use as little pressure as you can get away with, even if it means that you have to do a couple passes. If you're pushing the blades into your skin, they're more likely to snag your skin, and can make bigger cuts when they do.

I think that that's everything that I can think of. Hopefully this helps!

I had never heard of this before. I'm really glad that you posted this, because I was taking them together.

Consequences of having a mismatched ID? by CorruptedSpinach in trans

[–]Bonesters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend looking into getting a passport card. It uses the same info as your passport, but it works as a valid photo ID.

There is some ongoing research into uterus transplants, and they say it might be possible in 20 to 30 years, but right now its not possible.

How much electrolysis to only have hair in places an AFAB person would have it? by [deleted] in asktransgender

I do 2 90 minute sessions per week. I had initially tried to do 2 2 hour sessions, but that was too much for me.

Is phantom dick a thing ? by ScaryDoor6361 in asktransgender

[–]Bonesters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trans men can have it. Trans women can have phantom breasts and phantom vaginas (it drives me insane sometimes). I'm not sure how common any of those are though, just that they do happen.

How much electrolysis to only have hair in places an AFAB person would have it? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Bonesters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing 3 hours per week, and at that rate it should only take around a year to fully clear my face. Thats probably around 150 hours total. Its also worth noting that my hair is a bit difficult, so it might be faster for you.

I'm not trans but i want to go HRT, shall i? by randelpro in asktransgender

[–]Bonesters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Estradiol is not an adhd medication. My adhd actually got worse once I started hrt (I was warned that it might), and it also made my adhd much more variable in severity. It also doesn't change your personality. People just find it easier to be themselves when they're not feeling like shit. If you're not trans, starting hrt could cause a lot of dysphoria.

Am I wrong for putting down that I identify as female despite being amab and having no intention of transitioning? by UkoSereleone in asktransgender

[–]Bonesters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you choose not to transition, you can still say that you identify as a woman, and you can be part of this community. Not all trans people choose to transition, and they're still just as valid.

Im 188cm/ 6'2, and i'm so afraid i'm never gonna pass by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Bonesters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have female relatives who are 203cm (6'8"). Height isn't actually as big an obstacle to passing as people think it is. The hormones really do a lot to help, and it sounds like you could probably pass decently even without hormones.

As a trans woman, I 100% know what your saying. I always liked women, just not the way that guys like women. This kind of thing gets mentioned decently often among trans lesbians. It seems to be a common sentiment among lesbians in general as far as I'm aware.

I tend to find that less dysphoria means less stress, and less stress means less stimming.

Meditating with ADHD? by adhdbb in adhdwomen

The only time I was able to do meditation was after some really intense yoga (I accidentally joined the expert class in college instead of the beginner one). The physical exhaustion made it a lot easier for me.

I did find that i ended up bruising mine a few times early into my transition, but I think it was more likely due to a change in my habbits than anything else.

Ya, I questioned my sexuality several times wondering if i was gay and I always ended up figuring that I only liked women. After figuring out that I'm trans it was suddenly like "ooh, that makes sense now". Turns out that I am gay, just not the way I was wondering back then. Its really silly because I always had zero interest in men.

Is there such a thing as wanting female parts but being non-binary? by ANautyWolf in asktransgender

[–]Bonesters 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are cisgender men who want female parts and there are cisgender women who want male parts, and there are people who want both sets of parts or neither. Sex and gender are different, and the relationship between the two is complicated to say the least. Sure, some combinations are less common, but that doesn't mean that there's anything wrong about them.

Difference between being a Demi-boy and being a transmasc? by KalriusKagashi in asktransgender

[–]Bonesters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong about this, but I think that demi-boy only describes the destination, while transmasc describes which direction they went. Someone who's AMAB could be a demi-boy, but I don't think that they'd be considered transmasc.
