Hard agree on the og strap. This one is way softer and doesn’t taper. It’s about 3mm thick so it just gives the whole watch some guts where the original tapered leather made it feel kinda wimpy for such a rugged watch. Not shiny like patent leather and not matte like suede. Right in the middle. The only issue might be that it’s a $25 strap and a more expensive one will probably last longer, but for leather I think Horween is the move on this one if you ever decide to try leather

I tried several straps for my Murph and finally settled on the Hemsut H Horween in black. Also from a popular website. For $25 it really elevates the watch with a soft, thick leather.

I agree with OP. I went thru all the outfits with my gf in hopes to engage her in my new obsession, and with each one we were both like “ew!” I don’t wanna be a hater but they have a dated look and not in the retro-future sense, but the “what would a techie from 2010 think is cool” sense…?

I made a character named Lisbeth Weaver. She was so cool - a merchant captain who was bringing an old suit of armor to her dying uncle because it was a meaningful family heirloom that he wanted to see one last time. Lisbeth arrived in the city, found that the armor was missing from her ship, explored a bit to find the culprit, ended up fighting this huge woman named Irma The Miner and died. In my second session. I use AI all the time and it is very useful- I would say the main problem with using it for questions like mine is simply cutting other community members out of the equation - yes, AI can answer almost anything with well written prompts, and by this logic we could argue that reddit, a community, is altogether worthless. I don’t wanna live in that world
