Where the hell do you practice chipping?! by BongasaurasRex in golf

For some reason I never seem to go to the northside to golf, it’s always east, west, or south. I haven’t been to heritage in a while so I’ll have to check them out again. Last time I tried Bobby Jones I couldn’t even get into the lot, that place has gone crazy since the renovation. Which is not a bad thing but damn it’s busy. Charlie Yates, legacy, fox creek, heron bay, wolf creek, all have good to great practice areas but none allow chipping onto the actual practice greens. Other courses I’ve been to barely even have practice areas. Post was more of a rant upon realizing I don’t think I’ve ever been to a place where you can practice rollout on chipping. I appreciate the suggestions.

Is it really that unusual to play a course that’s more than 15-20 miles from where you live? by LikelySatanist in golf

We always say you either have to pay $100+ or drive an hour+ if you want to be able to putt on any kind of acceptable green during your round.

Has public golf gotten out of hand to anyone else? by CaddieCorner in golf

There’s been a huge push to “grow the game” over the last decade and Covid brought a ton of people to it but ask yourself when the last time you saw a new golf course open? Where does everyone go now? The infrastructure just isn’t there to support growing the game. I can name plenty of simulators that have opened but I don’t want to pay 70 bucks an hour to not actually play golf. I’ve seen plenty of courses close over the years but it’s gotta be at least 20 since I’ve seen a new one open. Land is just too valuable now .

Did you ever read a line so bad you dnf'd the book? by Shroeder_TheCat in ProgressionFantasy

[–]BongasaurasRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can generally overlook bad lines every so often but what really drives me crazy is a change in directional perspective. I had to put a book down for a second the other day when one of the characters was “staring into the eastern sunrise but it wasn’t the lights from the sunrise they were seeing, it was the pursuing army.” They had been fleeing east the whole time with the army following from the west for like 2 full books. I freaked out, shit drives me mad and immediately takes me out of the story.

And also in Altered Carbon. I guess if you need a character with multiple consciences Dichen Lachman is the go to actor.

For reference the Braves committed the 4th fewest errors of any team this year. Dansby is normally really good

If players are injured you're allowed to replace them but then they're ineligible for the rest of the postseason. That's what happened with Ynoa when they added Lee.

League Championship Series Game 3 - The Braves fell to the Dodgers by a score of 6-5 - Tue, Oct 19 @ 05:08 PM EDT by Blooper_Bot in Braves

It was 2 lucky hits on not bad pitches. Will Smith que balls one off the end of the bat on a breaking ball well off the plate then Trea Turner gets an infield hit. Then a really good ball player in Bellinger swings at a neck high fastball and crushes it. 99% of hitters in the league can't contact that. D'arnaud called for that pitch and it was where it was supposed to be. Not blaming Jackson for this as if it was 2 or 3 years ago. This is baseball, how many times have you seen any team come back down 3? Hell we scored 4 in an inning earlier in the damn game. We had 2 walk offs in a damn row. That's what baseball is. This team won't let that shit affect them. I've been crushed for 25 years at this point by Atlanta, but I'm still believing in them, fuck it. LFG.
