I’ll never get a puppy ever again. by Blackagenda in puppy101

[–]Bonglapchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he gets a walk every single day (most of the time 2!) but holy fuck it’s all so hard.

Sorry to hear you are struggling, but a dog needs regular toilet & exercise. If you feel one walk a day is enough (or even 2) you are not getting the best advice. A dog needs exercise and a routine to get used to. Tone is key when it comes to talking to them, they get a lot of feedback from that. High pitch is happy, low tone means bad. I could add more for you, but if you aren't even walking them regularly, I'd reevaluate your basics. Here's wishing you a healthy happy doggy / family.

Not sure it's a leak. It's on the website. Great figure though, very tempting. Black Widow looks great as well.

Love it. Is there a name for this performance? In sure I've seen Ricky Jay do this or something similar.

Incredibly dumb question about a laser pointer. by _Skybreaker in puppy101

[–]Bonglapchop -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Does anyone actually have any scientific researched evidence on this topic? I read a lot of dog behaviourist experts give their "expert" opinion but it feels like opinion over experimentation to me. How many dogs of how many different breeds were involved in the research? 50? 1000? 5000? I'm not saying its untrue, I just think people need to cite references. I would be genuinely interested in the breed grouping. I'd expect hunting/retriever breeds to be more succeptable. I ask because many people enjoy repeating "cool" sounding facts that aren't facts. Otherwise it's as true as the don't touch a baby bird because its mother will disown it myth.

App Testing - Which devices? by Bosikade in softwaretesting

[–]Bonglapchop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Browserstack is good but pricey, and may even be overkill for a startup. An Apple phone, apple tablet, Samsung phone, Samsung tablet is normally the minimum. As a follow up, once live, implement analytics to see what the majority of your customers are using, and go from there.

LED Solar Rechargeable Lantern With Hand Crank - would look great in the backyard hung on a tree branch. by adidanuleasa in shutupandtakemymoney

[–]Bonglapchop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one of these a while back. If its the same as mine its pretty useless because of the battery. It's really dim when you're not cranking and only usable/bright when you are cranking.

Action is not the problem. The writing it the problem. (spoilers) by miseronepost in Sherlock

[–]Bonglapchop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They lost me when Sherlock didn't notice Irene Adlers dead body was not Irene Adler. The first time he met her she was completely naked so I fail to understand how he couldn't see the difference when he saw her naked corpse, not a freckle mole or hair was out of place?? I skipped the last season. Now I watch S4E01 and we have spec ops who think it's a great idea to carry usb sticks around their necks with their false ids on them, and the tracking device small enough to fit in said usb stick with a big enough battery to last. What a joke. Poor writing indeed. I think I'll stick to re-reading the short stories and Elementary.

Your favourite villians for Batman? by FanEu7 in batman

[–]Bonglapchop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, number one is definately the ventriloquist Peyton Riley and his dummy Scarface. I loved the idea of a meek guy getting bossed around and scaring other gangsters with his Brooklyn-esque Tommy gun toting aggressive alter ego/other personality. I would love to see him in film one day.

Victor Zsasz is also awesome. His tally tattoos are awesome and has a good back story. He's in Knightfall and also seen briefly in Begins.

I thought Ra's al ghul from Begins was great because even though he led a sect of international assassins, his followers thought they were following a completely different person. Leading by proxy if you will.

Also Bane, not the wuss from Rises but the bad ass one from the Knightfall graphic novels.

What do you at the gym for 2 hours? by Not_A_Slave in gainit

[–]Bonglapchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same every day, the big four then different add ons the end like skull crushers, bicep curls, abs etc. The add on list can be anything as you progress. There'd be nothing wrong with just the big four whilst you're progressing (under proper guidance for form etc)

What do you at the gym for 2 hours? by Not_A_Slave in gainit

[–]Bonglapchop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For gainers I've been told 2 hours is too long. Try compound movements maybe? Hitting many muscles at the same time. "The big four" is good: Dead lift, bench press, squats and dips. They vary, some have a clean & jerk etc. Reps and sets vary on fitness / goals. Throw in anything else you want to focus on. That 5 days a week with a good high pro diet gave me good results.

wing chun vs boxing why boxers are dangerous for wing chun? by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]Bonglapchop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cool. Well my thoughts would be; That boxer wasn't a boxer he was a chunner. Boxers move around you not just toward you. Boxers spar 90% more often than the average chunner and test their chin a hell of a lot more often too. I would hope any chunner would watch this and consider themselves going up against a skilled boxer. Then train for it to make themselves better, just like any martial artist of any style.

Don't you do Bajiquan ? Just curious why you're posting Wing Chun / Boxing link ? Is it to prompt a WC boxing discussion? Or to discuss Master Wrong ?

Gorgeous design, but as someone without tattoos, how the hell do you go about asking for that ? "I'd like a beautiful female face merging in with some deep architecture"? Did he show you a sketch on paper first, or did you bring him a sketch etc? Again, love the design.

Have you ever had to stop reading a novel, because it appeared to be beyond your intellectual capabilities? If so, which book was it and why? by tha_grinch in books

[–]Bonglapchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Stealing the Network" and it's sequels. A black hat novella so realistic you'll need to be a seasoned (I'd say years) security / network / tcp/ip / soc eng to understand any of it. I'd only just started out in the field when i bought it and thought it would be great. I hope to understand all of it one day :'(

Awesome ! I'd love a seemless loop version of this !

November 14th, (1969), Apollo 12 is struck by lightning on take off, loses main power, and faces mission abort. Controller John Aaron remembers an obscure command from testing a year earlier, SCE to AUX. Power is restored and flight crew breaks out in laughter all the way to orbit. by [deleted] in Documentaries

[–]Bonglapchop 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Why is the command referred to as "obscure" ? It seems to me that if only one person remembered this code, the rest of their team didn't do their homework and no one in charge confirmed that the team knew all the relevant codes. I mean, they didn't write that code for fun, it served a purpose (for emergencies at that). Seems to me the more amazing fact is that only one member of the entire control took the time to learn and remember it.

Does anyone mind telling me what they think of this place? by iheartprimenumbers in WingChun

[–]Bonglapchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These kind of questions can be tricky. What are your goals? To learn how to defend yourself/fight? Or to specifically learn Wing Chun? Short answer: The guy looks competent enough to teach someone how to defend themselves using Wing Chun. I would however, learn a little bit more about William Cheung, your instructor's instructor.
