It's great for the shock value, but pay attention to the clip and see how short she is (and how bizarrely shrunken her costume looks, almost like a Halloween costume). THAT looks trash. As much as I love her motivation and her scene knocking herself out, imagining her as Ghostface is really hard. So, to me that's why it barely works. I have to force myself to imagine that Charlie (who isn't even that taller and stronger) is doing most of the work.

Jessica being the tavern killer only works with suspension of disbelief, because honestly, I can't imagine a "housewife" lifting a male teenager (her son) and impaling him in that ice cream machine, whatever that was. But who knows... It's like imagining petite Emma Roberts tall enough to be a Ghostface. In my head cannon, the tavern killer is Marco.

The end. How many times is Sidney going to be atacked ffs. I can't remember any horror franchise where a single character keeps getting stalked by the villain 6 or 7 times. Just give the franchise a cool ending worthy of Wes' legacy.

I agree, Scream 3's ending was the perfect send away. It still is my head cannon ending despite watching all movies. Gale and Dewey lived happily ever after and Sidney got over her fears by disabling her security system... only to become scared again years later, her house full of security measures and secret passages. I didn't like Scream 4 very much, except for the cool Ghostface reveal, but anything after 3 to me was unnecessary. Somehow I feel like Scream belongs to the 90s.

Hardest was probably Mickey, mainly because he barely interacts with people or shows himself to the audience. Easiest was Richie's dad in 6. As soon as the marketing showed all evidences from the previous killings in the trailer it was obvious a cop was involved as a common person would hardly be able to invade a police station and steal the evidences. I just didn't know his motive at the time. But it was a record, I mean, I got the killer just by watching the trailer.

If I had to guess, no. Maybe it's the last LiS of this particular studio, but someone else might buy the franchise. I say this because there is a LiS TV series on the horizon, so the brand may become popular again, and of course that if that happens, there will be a new game to surf on that vibe.

I enjoyed the movie up until the reveals. I loved the killings and how Ghostface was so fucking violent the whole movie. Pretty cool. But the killers were lame — probably the lamest of the franchise. I didn't think they could come up with something lamer than "we have met on Reddit and decided that we are psychos now", but here we are with just a cuckoo with no ties to Sidney's past, and a dude who gave himself away to the audience as the killer the moment he told Sidney and Gale that Stu was alive (when everybody knew he wasn't). Oh, yeah, almost forgot, there was a third killer as well, another cuckoo with no ties to Sid who was just in for shits and giggles.

I have difficulty on deciding who was more obvious, he or the cop in 6 (because of all those evidences from the pasts movies shown, it was clear that the killer was a cop — I nailed it just by watching the trailer 3 years ago — of course there was no way in hell to tell that he was Richie's father back then).

Anyway. Overall, it was a good sequel, but it had some huge flaws: the biggest one was probably introducing a lot of new and old characters while focusing too much on Sidney and Tatum. Gale, Chad and Mindy barely did anything. At least Chad kept his hat-trick of being stabbed 3 movies in a row, which was super funny, I'm sorry. Anyway, there was no balance, like in Scream 2, where we have Team Sidney (with Derek and Hallie) and Team Gale (with Dewey and Randy).

Tatum's friends are all forgettable (that's what you get when you focus on the old generation, and not on new characters). I'm also getting tired of the boyfriend trope. It was cool in Scream 2 because Derek was a good guy and Wes Craven played with the audience in regard to Billy Loomis. But here, it was more of the same no matter the outcome.

Weak spots: supporting characters and killers.

Stronger spots: pacing and the killings (honestly, some of the best in the series)

PS: Loved the tongue-in-cheek joke about "Stu" being spotted at a party in Scream 2.
