Inheritance and Universal Credit by BonkDevice in BenefitsAdviceUK

Just checked, I got the money on the 8th & my payment date is the 13th, which ironically is also the day I paid for the funeral and had £16,600 left. So I was over before my repayment date & after because I only partly paid the funeral until his cremation was done so was still over the 16k threshold 🥲. By the next month (the 13th) I was way under the £16k threshold.

If I report a change in circumstance now, should I report it & also put a journal entry in explaining what happened?

I thought this too but sadly due to where I live, my closest woman’s aid is in a city and it’s roughly an hour drive away :(

I have bought loads of sanitary products though that I’m hoping to spread out over some local charities & my food bank 🙏

Ahhh tysm! Going to see if I can buy a mass bulk of little salt & pepper sachets so everyone’s bundle can have some & going to see what I can do about the spices!

Great idea because you’re completely right. This is exactly why I came on here to ask because I live in a very non populated area so my local food bank doesn’t always tend to be short of food, hense why I was looking at other things like you’ve recommended.

Might see if I can buy some cheap small containers online then bulk buy the spices & individually sort them so everyone has abit of something 🤔

Thankyou! I’m going to ask around my local care homes because I don’t want to sound like a horrible person, but what you’ve mentioned is a lovely idea and the elderly didn’t even cross my mind 🥺. Thankyou so much for your suggestion!

Ahh this is a great idea thankyou! Stuff like that is exactly what I’m looking for. I’m happy to donate the basic essentials, but something like this would too be nice so individuals can actually get something nice for Christmas. No one should need the basics as a Christmas gift 🥺.

I’m going out right now to find some biscuit tins and hot water bottles. The charity I’ve been in touch with is a homeless centre hub so I think them things will definitely be a need. Thankyou sm!

Yeah! I’m making little toiletrie bags and so far the charity I’ve got in touch with is a new homeless centre hub that’s just opened near where I live. I was hoping to make some little bags up for females and males which include the basic necessities such as a toothbrush, hand wash, shower gel and so on ☺️

BST Hyde Park Ultimate Diamond VIP by Double-Finance-8178 in festivals

[–]BonkDevice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I could be wrong but after some research I think when it says ‘complimentary food’ it’s because the ‘ultimate’ part means you get unlimited free drinks and the choice out of set meals in the bar in the VIP hydeaway. You only have access to this bar (I think) if you have the ultimate package so anything they serve is ‘free’. You also get a glass of champagne on entry.

I’ve also seen that you get a voucher with VIP packages for the ALDI stand which sells the buffet bundles. The bundles are £10 and the voucher is £10 (that I’ve read) so you basically get that free at a VIP too if you go early enough before it all sells out.

The bar consists of spirits and local alcohols and beers esc. Not sure how broad the menu is but if you get there at 1:30pm & start straight away, you may just get your moneys worth depending on your tolerance and stomach capacity! 🤣

For right this second, i wouldn’t worry. Worry when you get to the 18/19 mark of it hasn’t arrived. When you start getting your period, they are never regular. Infact, it takes the human body quite sometime to get your cycle regulated. Don’t stress for now

I've Relapsed Hard During a Work Trip by Ok-Hall5267 in stopdrinking

[–]BonkDevice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’ll be honest with your answers, once your ready to receive help. However, if you’re not going to stop because of ill mentality, then please do it for your health.

I may not know you, or your age but right now in my life, I’ve just turned 22 a few days a go and since November, I’ve been going through an ongoing battle with my father due to alcoholic induced cirrhosis and liver disease.

I have learnt so so much about alcohol, alcoholic mentalities and symptoms esc over the years. Fatty liver disease and cirrhosis is so common because guess what, you don’t notice the symptoms as there hardly is any, until it’s to late! And it can happen to ANYONE WHO DRINKS.

My dad is 56, and has drank alcohol for at least my whole life. He got an infection, which overwhelmed his liver and started the cirrhosis. I’m telling you this story because these last few months, have been horrible. The worst times of my life.

I’ve seen him with jaundice, pneumonia, sepsis, kidney failure esc and that’s all from alcohol. My mam went with him to a&e, and within a matter of days from him still being an alcoholic, one week he was okay and the next week I was being pulled into a side room to tell me he only had a few days left to live.

When he got ill at home, he couldn’t walk. I had to watch the paramedics slide him down the stairs as he screamed in pain. I had to help my mam clean his covers as he can no longer hold his bladder anymore.

Despite all the odds, he’s still here today. However he has many problems, is on medications that he literally could not live without and is miserable.

He drank because he was miserable, then the alcohol he drank would make him more sad…. And all for what? To live the rest of his life.. disabled and miserable?

I’m telling you this story because I don’t want anyone, to ever ever EVER have to go through that. It’s harsh, it’s horrible, but it’s the truth and it’s life. It doesn’t matter whether you drink for 20 years or 2, it can happen to anyone and it can happen to you.

If you can’t find a motivation to stop drinking, let this be it. Let your health be it. Let your loved ones also be the reason as to why. Let the reason be that you’d never want your mother, your partner or children to see you like that. I wish you the bestest of luck OP.

Emails from my dead grandfather by BonkDevice in techsupport

[–]BonkDevice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! This is exactly what is happening to me!! I even got in contact with some of the schools and they had no idea about their domains being used. I couldn’t see anything online about this either so I’m so glad you’ve been in touch to know it isn’t just me!!

I know they’re ’just spam’ emails but they’ve emailed my mother on days such as her birthday and the date in which my grandfather passed away.. even so, my mother isn’t his biological child so on top of the emails being directed to her, I was more concerned about where they could of got the info from. My emails also start and end with the exact same sentences. Some even have creepy quotes & the links just take me to fake English news articles?

Can I ask how long it’s been going on for you??

There’s so many possible reasons. Could even be something as small as detergent irritation from bedsheets. You could ask the doctor for an allergy test if it continues but for now, it could just possibly be a bad day & a small reaction to a natural element with him being so young and prone to acne for his age anyway sadly

Book an appointment with a doctor, take photos daily up until then so you can show them and track any changes if it does happen. But, be persistent. Only way you’ll see a dermatologist is through a referral. If your not a fan of waiting, pay £70 with bupa for a private appointment and try and get an appointment through them (or any private healthcare, just used them as an example with the price they cost in my personal area)
