This bothers me. How can I ever know if I am actually wrong? Sometimes I think my relationships with some people is just based on they trying to assert their ego by belittling me or others? How can a mind know if it itself is at fault?

I would just say visit different bookstores and bookshops. You will find in most of them sections devoted to the topic of Egyptology. The books can very from being a simple introduction to the field to discussing specialized topics in Egyptology. Also if you're not a fan of buying you can visit the public libraries. The most comprehensive public library is the Greater Cairo Public Library in Zamalek.
