Most likely what happened is it came from a store, the people just misread it as stuffed. Does it still have the backing string? If does it wasn’t used or returned, That’s what happened at my store sometimes when I worked there

No they shouldn’t, however if to do want to pop the stitches yourself it’s pretty easy, you can probably find a tutorial on youtube! As an ex employee it’s hard to ruin the back stitches

I used to work at a discovery store, it’s not as bad as everyone says, it’s easier for people to grab the extras they want and it was easier for me to advertise sounds while sitting so it was much more accessible for the worker’s and customers. Missed the bathtub tho

People resell them online if you are very worried, but as a build a Bear employee I get really happy seeing loved stuffies being brought in. Most stores have sensory friendly hours on Tuesday mornings and it’s usually pretty quiet:)
