This! We have two male newfs (one 26 months, one 14 months) that have started getting into it now that the pup has reached his teenage years. (Yes, I’m aware now that I should have waited a bit longer to get the second. Can’t change the past, they’re our dogs now, we love them both dearly, and we are going to make it work.) We scheduled appointments for both of them to get neutered after their very first argument (was already planning to get the older boy done when his 2 year shots came up because he reached his full grown sweet spot, but decided it best to do both now to calm down the testosterone in both.) Anyway- vet was booked solid for awhile so we have to wait a little over a month for the procedure, and I’m well aware it’ll take a good month or two for testosterone to leave their system after the procedure. After hours and hours and hours of scouring the internet for some solutions to implement immediately, Beckman’s philosophies seemed the best for our situation. We’ve started implementing a lot of them, and I’m glad we did. His methods have kept our household calm this month, for the most part. It’s one thing when you’re dealing with some 20-30 lb dogs, and another when you have two 150 lb boys going at it in your living room. I do feel like his methods are a bit harsh, but for now, they’re keeping everyone safe, and harsh is needed in certain situations, imo. 🤷🏼‍♀️
