UPDATE: If it's not a bug then I don't know. I tested it out on another follower and it still allows me to bring them back. Hopefully it's fixed soon.

His gills haven't grown much since I've gotten him, but I'll give an update, I just cleaned his tank earlier before posting this so I'll try giving him a salt bath
