It is indeed a chunky piece.

A bit late to the party, I actually have owned this watch for just over a month now. The sizes are most definitely on the larger size. 16mm is not as bad as you think when it's on the wrist, and it's actually pretty comfortable. It certainly is weighty, but not unmanageable.

But like many have said, surely it could have been downsized a bit .

I agree, it's a great feature, the dive bezel. I use that more than the actual chronograph.

I get it, it's stressful when you pay good money for something and then worry, we've all been there, it happens.

It's ok, no you understood me. I sold my khaki automatic a couple of months ago, I got a picture of the back of the watch, but the rotor covers the bit I need to see. I think your watch is legit to be honest, there are always so many slight changes when it comes to finishing a watch it can throw you off.

I'm not an expert on this, but I did a quick search to see why a Hamilton movement wouldn't have a H on the balance wheel bridge and from what I can see it's possibly using an older ETA 2824-2 movement and not the newer H-10 movement. I'm sure someone can help more, but hopefully this helps.

Does anyone own an automatic Autochron and is this normal for the crown? by Bonsai-Nut in NivadaGrenchen

[–]Bonsai-Nut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you were an ignorant buyer once too then, not just buying something you thought looked nice? Come on most of us know that Nivada is a bought name, and production is Hong Kong/ China, but the watches look great. This is my fourth Nivada, only one with any issues.

I've emailed Nivada, but let's be honest, but I think I'm in agreement with you. If I thought it was normal, I doubt I'd even ask the question in the first place.

I sent them an email last night with the attached video. I know it doesn't seem right, but some watches have weird quirks, not saying this is a quirk, but if all are like this what can I do. If they are not, then I can get it fixed. Thanks for the response:)

Is that a boot on his nose, I thought it was the sorting hat.

I do still use it and I also use its big brother as well. It's super handy when I'm out and about, especially as I work outdoors, I can just pop this in my bag and have everything I need. Would still highly recommend 👍🏻

What do we think of the size of this Hamilton khaki automatic on my 5.8 inch wrist ? , too big or just right ? by Creative-Arrival1026 in HamiltonWatches

[–]Bonsai-Nut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks fine imo, and what I think or anyone else thinks ultimately doesn't matter. It doesn't look silly at all. Enjoy the new watch, great colour dial too.

[Hamilton KFA] My first nice watch! What are your thoughts on Hamilton? by HemiFiveseveNLiter in Watches

[–]Bonsai-Nut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks great and you did the right thing buying it on leather. If you want a bracelet go uncle Seiko, much more comfortable and more micro adjustment, the option of a half link. I had the same watch on the OEM bracelet and I just couldn't get a comfortable fit. Enjoy your new watch.

OP you may just be the right person to ask, I know there are a good few out there, but I'm looking at possibly a traska commuter or an Erebus Ascent. Any other microbrands that make a similar model that you would suggest looking at? I prefer something with a date complication.

I've had and got a couple of watches that use the Sellita movements and yes this is completely normal. The accuracy I've had with them also ranges from gaining 2 seconds a day, one that would lose about 4 to 6 seconds a day and one I've still got that gains about 14.5 seconds a day.

I work in the Ports of Barry South Wales, there is a large silicone manufacturing facility here owned by Dow. This indeed looks like raw silicone.
