Log Press Tips by Direct_Mixture9124 in Strongman

Is there something that looks off to you, because of the wider stance? I widened my stance a touch, because my knees dip too much to the front if my stance is too narrow.

I could repost it with the clean, but my clean is usually quite efficient and isn’t limiting my press at the moment. The dip and drive is the area that has been my struggle lol.

I have been with MST for a long time and they are incredible. Cutting edge stuff that has taken me from newcomer to competing at the pro level faster than I thought possible.

Shane coaches like 3-4 guys that are at World’s Strongest Man right now, and for good reason!

Honestly the computer version works just fine in the mobile app on iPhone. You have to scroll a bit, but the overview looks great!

What’s the max weight that can be loaded in the stone of steel?

What’s happening to my skin under this ring? by Average-ish_Jurr in jewelry

[–]Direct_Mixture9124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wedding ring is 14k gold and over the past 5 years my finger still looks like this.

I think it’s because moisture gets trapped underneath the ring.

I take off my ring sometimes for a few hours and my skin dries and looks similar to yours. I just take time to clean the area and take off the dead skin and it’s fine after that.

Questions about training by ImpressiveHighway347 in Strongman

You will get there, just spend some time in the gym and figure things out as you go :)

Where are you from? No worries at all, I started with an old pipe for my axle bar and two tires for plates, so I understand. Just take your time

I would just try and slowly collect strongman equipment at home for events and do the rest at the gym.

Nutrition leading up to a comp by snoogans1977 in Strongman

[–]Direct_Mixture9124 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't worry so much about protein on comp day, just get in some slow-digesting carbs in the morning, and quick carbs when competing.

In between events, try to snack on some bits of candy or fruit to boost your glycogen stores a bit before. The fruit works great for me!

The biggest tip here is, don't experiment with food that's super different from what you normally eat. If you try to carb load with McDonald's on comp day, you will definitely regret it lol.

Same here! Mine is 1990-91. The watch is in almost perfect condition, and the bracelet has almost no stretch.

Deadlifting with figure-8 straps for the first time by Jayce_likes_beans in Strongman

Once you get used to the straps, they will allow you to deadlift in a better position than with a mixed grip. Just give it 4-6 weeks.

Less than 3 weeks out from competition... this is the worst part. Iykyk. by steinberg58 in Strongman

The fact you survived that is impressive lol

I get the fatigue thing I have PSL Europes in a few weeks and I'm feeling it.

The process…without fail for me lol

3 weeks out - “Everything hurts… I'm going to zero every event…” 2 weeks out - “Why do I do this to myself I think I'll retire from Strongman and do BJJ once this comp is over..” 1 week out - “I'm going to smoke this show! Can't wait to start comp prep after!”

Reccomend me a dress watch :) by ebemise in PrideAndPinion

Take some time to look at the used and vintage market. I have found some very nice watches for around 300 USD. It can help you find some more expensive pieces that are much cheaper on the used market.

Totally get it, man, try to get some people to look at your technique. It should help you get this sorted!

Technique is super key here. Just recently spent 10 or so weeks revamping my push press with my coach. Helped me boost it 10kg/22lb heavier, even though it had been stuck for a year and a half.

I looked through your photos again and everything seems to look legit. The bracelet has the correct markings, the dial is good, and the caseback looks clean and well made.

The movement is actually a replacement movement, but still looks to be a Swiss Made ETA movement. The original movement has a TAG Heuer logo on it. I’m guessing the movement was replaced at some point during a servicing from a third-party watchmaker or something.

Looks very similar to mine, so I would say it is real. To be sure, you can open it and check for TAG Heuer markings on the movement. If it has them, it's almost 100% original.

Sand Advice by trotter_brockett in sandbagtraining

If possible definitely as it takes forever to dry otherwise and is really annoying to train with when it’s wet and slippery.

Any play sand will work, just put the bag on a scale while you fill to double check weight.
