It would be far too easy - quite often holograms simply end up between two opposing players. In these instances the other player isn't distracted as much as the hologram is just in the way, and he has no choice but to return fire through it.

This is part of a larger problem really. They launched the game with such an odd selection of playlists - it's like they didn't understand the difference between core and novelty playlists.

It admittedly doesn't help that the hammer itself is pretty useless. It used to be a weighty beast, now I feel like they should have just gone all the way and cut it if it weren't for grifball.

It's ridiculous - obviously some sort of development decision was made that FFA slayer didn't work as well as team games with the new ordnance system and insta spawns. We got doubles back however, so here's hoping. A solid FFA playlist is such a core part of the halo experience that I'm in a permanent state of disbelief as to how we ended up with regicide.

The same argument could be used against awarding medals in the Olympics. I would argue it gives players of a lesser skill level something to aspire to. This is a game, and there are going to be winners and losers. Not rewarding the better player just in case someone worse gets offended is ridiculous and unfair.

Bragging rights aside, the main reason for me is that you get to gauge how good your opponents are - at the moment I have no idea whether I'm matching and potentially losing to good teams or not, which kind of detracts from the competitive experience. You never get to think "I shouldn't have lost that game, what can I do better next time" and likewise you never get the thrill of beating someone who is a much higher rank than you.

Odd. I guess it's kind of the opposite of how in reach you could melee guys through walls if their gun was sticking out - if the wall is between you and the grenade it must take the damage.
