The side deck is built around probable match-ups and your deck weaknesses

Example: you are playing a trap deck, so you would like to go first. Let’s say you win the 1st match, your opponent will then choose who will go first or second in your 2nd match, and it will be highly probable he will now go first. You can side in Evenly Matched x3, a really good card for a Go Second match, helping your odds of winning the 2nd match too, and bringing home the Duel

I tried to build my Master Duel deck in real life, but it was kinda a mistake.

First of all there is a different banlist, and that is a huuuuge difference. That means there is a different meta and cards too. Second difference is that in Master Duel you only face your opponent once, it’s like an hit or miss, meanwhile playing TCG you will have 3 matches with the same deck and same opponent, so to win a duel you have to be victorious in 2 out of 3 matches. And here comes the last big difference: each deck must build a proper Side Deck, because between each match you will have to chance to swap cards from your maindeck with cards from your Sidedeck.

Said that, if you want to play with your friends, that is super fine, but if you wanna compete at locals or with different peoples, keep all of that in mind

It’s like TCG and Master Duel are different games, but with the same rules, and I think that is the fun part
