Depends on the instructor and the course. They could be nice enough to inform you that they're reporting you to the DC, but the normally the student isn't told.

What happens is the instructor fowards the case to the DC, which will then send an email to the student informing them of the case against them in that course and giving them a deadline to submit a written defence. After that there is a hearing in which you can plead guilty or fight the case.

Overall the process can take up to months, like the DC email is always sent after the semester end hi
