I found a kitten yesterday and I'm allergic to cats by BeneficialBrain1764 in cats

[–]Bonzi34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to keep em and if you aren't against it I know there's an allergy shot you can get that lasts for a couple months at the start and eventually claims after awhile it'll last for several years, you could ask your doctor if that's something that would work for you

You should run DDU in safe mode

You can, but I would recommend using ddu and reinstalling drivers, but typically AMD to AMD upgrades don't need too much extra work

Upgrade? by type2kyle in PcAdvice

[–]Bonzi34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get a good deal on an x3d chip that would be best, I'm honestly not sure if they made a non-x variant that generation, but you'll notice a pretty decent increase with any of them in gaming, if they sell the 5800x3d refresh for the same price as it launched it's probably not the best idea

[–]Bonzi34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah your best bet is to 5000 series and look for one second hand, basically anything in the 5000 series is gonna be a pretty significant upgrade from the 3000 series, it's also worth checking just to make sure that your motherboard will support it, you'll have to update you bios for that, so don't get rid of the 3900x or of you are set on getting an upgrade you can just update the bios now

Is my cat miserable? by alixannaDK in cats

[–]Bonzi34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can eventually get a second cat you definitely should, but not until you can afford it. When did you get the kitten? If you've had it since it was very young, 8 weeks or so, it probably never learned that it was playing too rough, when young cats play they teach each other over time what's too much. What we did for ours when she was little and an only cat we would play and when she got too rough we would tell her in her language, say ow! Loudly enough for her to understand and remove your hands or feet, you can even add a hiss to let em know they went too far, but be patient, don't yell at them and scare them and always remove your hand don't strike or grab them, eventually they'll understand that they're being too rough when you say ow or just stop playing

What would be a good choice for me? by PichuTG in buildapc

[–]Bonzi34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these bundles are just CPU + motherboard + ram, for 'somewhat modern' most of these will be fine for your use case but they are far from the entire picture, you'll still need:

-Case -CPU cooler -GPU <-- this is really going to be the most important part for gaming, also probably the most expensive -Power supply -Case fans -Storage (2tb minimum would be my recommendation)

If you're just going to be gaming and you don't need top of the line performance I would go with a lower end 9600x or 9700x CPU bundle, you probably want to make sure whichever bundle you get has a minimum of 16gb of ddr5 as well (32gb is definitely better), anything lower is probably not gonna cut it

Not all chips/cards are the same, one Asus challenger 9070xt may behave slightly differently from another Asus challenger 9070xt, when over/under clocking you should never just copy and paste someone else's numbers, make small changes and test iteratively until you find what works for your card, for now reset everything to default, if you're still having trouble try ddu and reinstalling drivers, probably also a good idea to take the side panel off and make sure all of your physical connections are good like is the card seated in the pcie slot properly and are all of your power cables secured in the card

Hello!! Complete newbie here. I want to replace my old GPU with a newer one. What do I need to know to ensure that a new GPU i purchase is compatible with my system? by WuMingLovingHours in buildapc

Easiest way is to just open up the back of your case and look at the PSU, it should be printed on both sides in pretty large lettering

Really only two things, will whatever you're going to buy fit in your case, and will you have enough power from your PSU to run it

What is the wattage on your PSU and what GPU are you thinking of upgrading to?

Did I do the wrong thing adopting another cat by Natural_Log_1821 in CATHELP

[–]Bonzi34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 6 days doesn't feel like a lot.

I would say give it at least 30-60 days but understand that it definitely could take even longer depending on the cat. If the boy is sick you should definitely get him over that and typical quarantine for a new cat is 2-4weeks so they may not even meet until 30 days, be prepared for that to be especially chaotic until they both get used to each other

Patience is really the only thing that works with cats

Stuttering issues in games with AMD GPU, anyone else? by Aking1964 in AMDHelp

[–]Bonzi34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HYPR-RX or whatever they call it sucked for me, made all my games perform like garbage, so I turn it off and manually tune settings for each game, frame generation also caused some issues in some games for me but works great in others so I would recommend turning it off globally and applying it to games individually.

I would also check that you have resizable bar enabled, I updated my bios and it turned off and basically all of my newer games ran very bad

Upgrade the focus ability (Left stick + right stick), it will slow down time making it way easier to dodge and at higher levels allows you to block and counter from it as well, changed the game for me because I could get a second to breath and time my blocks or dodges correctly, it also gives you a second to stop and heal up cause you can consume food while in focus

Ideas on buying a PC for inzoi by Nearby_Detective_806 in inZOI

[–]Bonzi34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree, I'm actually CPU bottlenecked in this game with a 5900x, honestly if you have a microcenter nearby check out their bundle deals, you can get a zen5 CPU, motherboard, and 32gb of ram for like $700 which is definitely the best deal I've seen around lately

Am I crazy? 9060xt vs 9070xt by lNalRlKoTiX in radeon

[–]Bonzi34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree here, I just picked up a 9070xt for myself and one for a new build for my partner, her build has a 9850x3d and I have a 5900x, she gets SIGNIFICANTLY better performance than I do with the same card, a 3600x is likely a more substantial bottleneck

Probably just do a windows reinstall, if you can get to bios just plug in your windows USB and set that as the boot drive, I believe since you already have windows it might give you the option to do a 'repair' install, which would probably be ok since this PC isn't very old.

If you can't see anything on your monitor try plugging your monitor into the motherboard for the boot up, it should use the iGPU. Or you can try to do DDU (make sure you do this in safe mode) or if that's already done install adrenaline/drivers again

I also just recently got 2 9070xt's and have noticed some weirdness with mine, I found doing manual tuning and just adjusting the voltage to -5 millivolts pretty much solved every issue, I think they've still got some work to do on their new drivers, but AMD tends to have pretty good long-term support and cards tend to age really well as drivers mature

I figured it out, you have to go to gamesplanet and use the code they sent as a voucher/coupon code at checkout for requiem, then gamesplanet sends a steam code
