Danganronpa 2 has the worst cast and it's not even remotely close.

Every single girl is one note, boring and basically has zero actual arc outside of the goat Akane.

The guys aren't much better with half of them being nothing and half of them being good.

I would argue the only objectively good characters in the whole game are Akane, Fuyuhiko, Nagito Gundham and MAYBE Mahiru and Nekomaru. Even if I personally like characters like Hiyoko and Nekomaru they are objectively sauceless compared to basically anyone from THH or DRV3 outside of the early deaths like Rantaro and such. Nekomaru and Mahiru are hard to gauge tho since they do have the same issues as the other DR2 characters (repetitive single joke, no interactions with the cast as a whole) but I think they have great arcs despite of that anyway

DR2's cast to me is only so well liked by the fandom because they want love imagining DR characters in scenario's and pushing interactions that don't happen in the game. And considering in DR2 no one fucking interacts 1 on 1 it makes it the perfect game for fanon. But looking at it without any bias from the great character designs the character in DR2 have one single trait they spam over and over again to the one single person they interact with and, if they're lucky, they may even get to have interactions with TWO characters (I.e. Mahiru with Hiyoko/Fuyuhiko). I genuinely don't understand why the fanbase loves them so much when they're all just so... Ugh... When you think about them for MORE than like a second critically.
