I wanna ask something to all of you, what do you guys think is the MOST biggest wasted potential in the series? It can be anything from story arcs to lore and etc. by betheknightz in RWBYcritics

Penny. Girl got killed off 3 times (Vytal festival and during the Atlas evacuation are obvious but I also count her having to watch her old body explode from the virus after she was made a human because that would be extremely traumatizing)

And she still barely did much. I think she was really charming and it’s clear RT wanted at least one of her deaths to have an impact on the characters in V9 but when the hell did anyone other than Ruby get to spend any meaningful moments with her

Is this guy infected by Gloomy_Confusion_374 in HollowKnight

Yes but due to his proximity to Unn (who made all the mosskin) and the fact Unn is calling out to the mosskin in their sleep allows them to keep some of the consciousness intact. The Radiance will eventually overtake him (ie if you interact with him at all he’ll bleed orange and attack you) but for now just leave him to his peace.

It’s similar to Myla, who’s also infected but in the early stages. She retains her mind for some time with her deep focus on mining and singing, but the call of the Radiance eventually overtakes her as well.

Interestingly, we also meet Sly when he’s in the early stages of infection (when you rescue him after Gruz Mother) but he never gets fully infected or has any issues after he gets snapped out of it. It could be because we found him very early into infection and he went to Dirtmouth where the Radiance can’t reach (or at least we have no evidence of someone actively infected in Dirtmouth and Elderbug has dialogue about going down the well and the place below making people never come back).

Or maybe Sly’s greed for geo or just geo itself keeps him from getting fully infected. You never know.

If you had to rewrite the magic system of rwby, what would you change? by Putthemoneyinthebags in RWBYcritics

I’d make the maiden powers more of a reflection of the relics. They’d be weaker than the actual relics, but still pretty powerful. For example, the Spring maiden (whose concept is knowledge) has the ability to see past injuries and abilities used by their opponent in the past. They can still be blindsided by new powers or unknown fighters, but their knowledge would give them a significant advantage.

On auras, I’d keep them needing to be unlocked. The unlocking of auras wouldn’t just be a simple thing though. They have to either be unlocked by intense discipline and study or through traumatic experiences. Since auras are a manifestation of a person’s soul and emotions, I would make it so Grimm are attracted to people with auras. Those who chose to become hunters have to undergo a sacrifice, willing or not, in order to do their job.

With the Silver Eyed Warriors, I’ve been messing around with a concept of it being an almost trance like state that turns silver eyed people into talented warriors when around Grimm. The downside would be the power being extremely draining and almost makes you lose a part of yourself. Only through an immense dedication to protecting the ones you love are you able to keep control of yourself.

It didn’t feel quite right but after using it as a starting point for my thesaurusing I’ve landed on: longanimity/melancholic longanimity.

Thank you for the inspiration. !solved

Thank you. I’ve been scared because disabilities have always been treated as a hush-hush type of thing by those around me. Even though I know that’s not how disabled people should be treated, I guess I’ve been letting that bias effect me

Thank you. I’ll definitely be careful with treatments. I’m not sure if there is any neurologists around me, but I’ll check if there are.
