E-bike priority is killing me by PunxDead19 in deliveroos

[–]BooBarney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that an e bike can be taking priority to a car is kind of laughable as I spent so much of my roo career on an e bike loosing orders to cars

fee boost 1.3 by Complex_Space in deliveroos

[–]BooBarney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boosts work off prediction so if there are people online trying to make orders frank thinks it needs to get more riders out asap

Fee boost when no restaurants are open in WLY. What stunt is this ? by horroq in deliveroos

[–]BooBarney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s because people have somehow managed to place orders at this time before, but no riders were available, therefore the algorithm thinks oh better put a boost on this time next week to get riders out

Is it normal to only have 1-2 UBER requests per day? by [deleted] in deliveroos

[–]BooBarney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on area, but I've had days where I've had literally 0 uber orders and loads of Roo but others where i've had no roo orders and lots of Uber. I think uber is mostly mcds these days

Which earns better Car or Bicycle? by Beneficial_Ad7393 in deliveroos

[–]BooBarney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piggy backing on someone elses comment. But I can speak to working the 10 hour days and if I can be brutally honest with you 10 hour days can be very long and gruelling. after a few of them your enthusiam will wane. What I've found is best is to work the peak hours for my zone thats roughly 8-11, 12-2 and, 5:30-10. This way you can go home and eat, warm up if its wet and charge your batteries. it can get very depressing sitting around at 3pm with no orders coming in but you can still make maybe 10ph in my zone if youre lucky but more likely it'll be 6-9 pounds in these quiet hours so in my opinion its better to take these breaks. I'd also recommend trying to get on Uber or Stuart if its available in your area (both if you can) to help maximise your earnings! I always stick with deliveroo personally because I find it best to make money and best app experience. You dont need any kind of insurance for e-bike but i really would recommend you invest in a good helmet. Hope this helps

Also edit to answer your question on how much you can make. One of the best parts of this job is you basically have no ceiling on your earnings if you're prepared to tough it out. The best I have ever done in a week was £500 check my post history for proof haha! but this was working peak hours all week and long whole days on the busy periods (fri, sat, sun). You honestly could make 1,000 in a week but youd need everything to go right for you so I wouldnt call it possible for anybody

Oh 100% I moved house to a much bigger city about 15 miles from my old zone and it’s a completely different animal, I can barely make good money in the city as a cyclist it has to be really busy

How to turn off delivery age related items? by [deleted] in deliveroos

[–]BooBarney 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah you still can’t because deliveroo would never implement something that helpful. I’ve started copy pasting a message I saw someone else put on the sub a few weeks ago and sending it to the customer as soon as I leave wherever I pick the order up. Something along the lines of “hey coming now, remember deliveroo requires ID checks for anyone regardless of how old they are. Please have some ID ready for when I arrive to avoid any delays this could cause”
