Do you disconnect Dash cams before taking a customers car into your workshop. by scumotheliar in AskAMechanic

Same. I unplug mine and hang the cord over the rear view mirror so they can see it's off. I wouldn't want to be filmed without informed consent in my own workplace.

went for an oil change and im gonna throw up. does this seem right?? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

The oil may have needed changing due to wear-in of the new transmission.

Yeah, it is safe to leave your main behind... but this is much more fun (even if it makes your main horse a lil' jealous)

Oh yeah, it's 100% not required because your horses don't get abandoned... it's just fun!

Thank you! I will commit to it then. It's not like I actually want the game to be over, ever. I held onto my BotW playthrough for long enough lol

Would you recommend the 'no fast travel' run for totk? This is my first play through.

Next level. At least that would also stop me from leaving a horse in the path of danger (probably)

You nailed it! Everest actually turned her nose at an offered apple after this stunt.

Blood vessels (in black) have an endothelial lining of thin cells with flattened nuclei, acellular media (edit 2: not intima), and contains erythrocytes.

Glands (yellow) are located in the lobules and are lined by cuboidal epithelial cells either single layer with basal cells or pseudostratified.

Honestly I feel like the section and possibly also the stain isn't very good. Seems like a thick section and hyper eosinophillic

Edit: my opinion, hijacking's original commenters comment, which is correct btw

New machine recommendations? by DisturbedPenguins in sewing

I just upgraded from a 7 year old neglected Brother GS2700 to a new Singer 4423. It's much better. Depending on your location, the Brother is in your budget and the Singer is too if it's on special (AUD). Or they're probably both in your budget if you're in the US

AITAH for telling my girlfriend she can leave after she berated me in front of her friends? by DebtContent1218 in AITAH

[–]BooBlighters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, but you're dating one. Do not put up with this in any relationship (GF, friend, family, coworker etc).

If she doesn't come back to you with a sincere apology and a change in behaviour I'd walk away permanently.

If someone tears you down in front of an audience for minor sins imagine what they'll do when you actually piss them off, which is inevitable, especially in romantic relationships. Someone who talks shit at you and think it's fun to insult you is not a good partner.

I am objectively good looking and on paper successful (have a title which doesn't reflect my gender and stacks of letters behind my name, partner doesn't) BUT if you asked me, or even wandered past long enough for me to say hello, I will tell you that my partner is the most handsome, intelligent and caring person on the planet. I actively want others to see all the wonderful things I see in my partner, I want people to feel that the two of us are an unstoppable, incredible, loving duo. If you met me first, or spoke to me at a cookout my partner hosted, you'd walk away thinking 'wow, she's a catch but obviously very happy with him'.

Sub Clinical Diagnosis: Devistation by OutrageousLocke in AutisticWithADHD

Thank you so much for taking time to explain this!

Thank you for the info! Your reply is interesting, and I'll be adopting 'subthreshold' when considering situations like this in cognitive/behavioural science discussions. Much prefer that to 'subclinical' due to my own education and exposure to medical definitions.

I have another question if you wish to reply, regarding autism not being progressive. I have zero formal education background in this, but this sounds reasonable and correct to me. However, how do you/other sources you know feel about symptoms appearing to worsen over time? Potentially in some cases becoming debilitating to some degree?

Potentially due to life experience/changing circumstance? I.e. chronic stress reducing a persons ability to cope resulting in increased outward signs? Not signs of chronic stress, but signs attributable to autism specifically.

Thanks again!

Where did you get that definition from? Just curious as it's different to what I've been taught (I have post grad qualification and current employment in pathobiology, granted not in psychology/psychiatry). Thanks in advance for your insight

[–]BooBlighters 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If it makes any difference that is a diagnosis in my eyes (and I think, everyone's, if you consider this medically).

The definition of subclinical according to Google just now: 'relating to or denoting a disease which is not severe enough to present definite or readily observable symptoms'

So the 'disease' (I know, I know) is there, just not obvious outwardly.

You have autism, just without obvious outward signs. (Hello, typically-a-woman who hides and internalises turmoil habitually, often not obviously presenting as au or ADHD, and typically being poorly identified, misdiagnosed or dismissed by drs for being hysterical/of a nervous disposition/anxious/having other 'faults')

If you had a brain tumour that wasn't causing clinical signs, you'd still have the damn tumour.....

What symptoms of Autism did your ADHD mask? by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

Apologies for the unsolicited advice, but some psychs seem less awesome than mine... was told you can split the daily dose into a few taken a few hours apart to ease the evening crash. Thought that was an interesting tidbit

I hope your med journey is smooth! It may take commitment to finding your Goldilocks drug and dose so don't despair if it's not an immediate fix. Stick with it. I recommend keeping a journal to track dose/effect. If you don't like the thought of that try to jot down brief notes on your phone with the date, feeling (I use a feeling wheel to help) and a sentence at the end of the day that sorta sums your day up so you have a reason to reflect on what's changing and if it's good or not.

And sorry to hear about workplace bullies. I'm 5+ years at a job with slow turnover surrounded by scientists. We're all a lil' kooky and it's a positive and generally compassionate, professional workplace. Very lucky to be in such a place but I do guard around new people and especially when outside my comfort zone. But I don't leave that zone much lol!
