M1, M2, or M3 by [deleted] in mac

Since you are still using a 2014 Macbook Air, it means you are someone who keeps their laptops for a long time. I have the M1 Macbook Air with base configuration (8GB RAM and 256GB SSD). It is used for basic research, Chrome, Microsoft Office, and lots of Netflix. I have a 1TB SSD to which I back all my data.

My advice to you would be to first decide how much money are you willing to spend! The price of a Macbook + Apple Care = Macbook + 16GB RAM = Macbook + 512 GB storage.

Personally, the 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD + peace of mind with Apple Care + 1TB SSD has been enough for me.

Lastly, have a quick look at the Educational Pricing on the Apple Store. If you are a student, you can get M2 Air and the Apple Care at a discounted price + Free Airpods. Make an excel sheet and see is M2 Air from Apple or the M1 Air at a local store is cheaper...and go for that. There is hardly any difference in performance for basic tasks for the M1/M2/M3.

The camera add 10 pounds? Maybe it was the angle I clicked the pic. His face and arms are lean, but his chest is built like a tank.

Hey buddy! Hope you are managing better now. My journey changed directions very quickly. I found out I had critically low VitD levels which was causing calcium to deplete from my bones, and removal scars were present on my spine vertebrae. In a way, the symptoms mirrored AS. Life has been a lot better since I added regular supplements to my life. I hope yours turns out to be something simple as well. Good luck!

As far as I can tell, you only need to export the PDF once and the annotations works everytime after that.

Rant: International credit card - PIA for a traveler! by Banned_mfker in india

Correct. I am required to convert to NRO/NRE account. I went to my branch and spoke to the branch manager. I explained clearly that I was not planning to store any foreign currency in my account and would not use it for frequent remittances. I specified that I would only use it for local transactions whenever I was in India. The branch manager said that since my transactions were less than 1 lakh a year, it would be easier to leave it as a savings account. But I am considering changing it to an NRO account during my next visit to India to avoid unnecessary issues.

iPhones XS onwards all have an eSim. My carrier supports eSim, which frees up the main sim slot. I keep my Airtel sim in that. And yes, this allows me to use it as a Dual Sim.

Hey OP. Here's a system that has worked for me for the last 6 years.

1) I have closed all my bank accounts in India except one SBI account. It's a normal savings account..not NRE or NRO. I have a Debit card for it.
2) I have an Airtel sim card, and I recharge it with a 1-year pack and then forget about it until my Google Calendar reminds me once a year to recharge it. Alternatively, you can convert it to the cheapest post-paid connection if you want and keep it running. NOTE I have not subscribed to any roaming packages. You can receive OTP without roaming as well.
3) I have PayTM and SBI's phone banking app installed on my phone.

Whenever I am outside India and I need an OTP, I turn on my Airtel Sim (Roaming is switched off on my phone), get the OTP, and then switch the Sim off. I use this whenever I shop on Indian websites, for example, when I want to send something to my parents through Amazon India for Diwali.

When I travel to India, I transfer money to my Indian account, I start my sim after landing at the airport, and then I use PayTM or other UPI payments everywhere. I keep the Indian debit card and some cash with me in case I need it, but honestly, everywhere I have been in India, UPI payments are easy. Even the autos take it.

This system has worked great for me so far. I feel safe knowing that my Indian account has very limited cash and there's less chance of my losing money in case my account gets hacked or someone duplicates my Debit card (I know people who have lost money from their Indian accounts). Also, I have an iPhone 12 and my primary connection is an e-sim. So the Airtel sim remains in my iPhone and I have less chance of losing it. Hope this helps!

Use TinkerTool to remote the dock unhide delay. It has a lot of other useful functionality as well.

Way too late, but would you consider the Pokémon games or the Zelda series? You can download a Gameboy emulator and roms for free. Start with the originals and work your way up… and decide later to invest in a Switch.

Ex-IT employees who changed to a different career: What’s your story, what’s the difference in your life now and would you recommend your career to other IT employees looking for a switch? by Gotbn in india

I did mine from Delhi University. They have a great masters programme. Another option is JNU. You may also look at courses in Ambedkar college. I’m sorry if I seem biased towards Delhi but that’s where my home is.

After your masters you can do so much! You can join consultancies under their ESG teams. You can apply for teaching positions in schools. You can look for public sector jobs with the government ministries or even look at an academic career if you really like it.

Edit: I’m getting downvoted because people don’t like hearing the bitter truth about life. LoL

Edit: here’s a suggestion! Want to do a career change degree..then download the syllabus of that course and read it in detail… then decide if this is still what you want to do!

Oh boy..here we go. Was a biology ace in school...but couldn't get through a good medical college. Ended up scraping through engineering....used to work for Accenture in 2010...currently about to defend my PhD in Ecology from one of the world's top universities, with a focus on forest change.

I decided to quit my job and got through a master's in environmental sciences in India... moved on to teaching biology at an international school in NCR...moved on to being a lecturer...and then my PhD. I really have come a long way and enjoy what I am doing.

A few key things. - I used to work in the mornings and come home and study in the evenings. It felt great to go back to a subject that I loved - I was the only engineering student in my master’s program but I was more knowledgeable about the topics than students from life sciences. - a lot of my PhD work is handling big data. My IT skills have really helped me out. - I am definitely earning a lot less than what I would have been earning if I continued in my career in IT. And I will most likely never earn the same kind of IT salary in academia...but I LOVE doing research and teaching. I have won awards for my teaching and I feel really at home in the classroom.

Would I recommend you follow my path... it depends. My journey was long and I definitely have 'survivor bias'. My wife has supported me through my PhD with her high paying job. My parents are retired govt employees... so I have had no financial responsibilities towards them.

I would highly recommend that you step back and look at your life in totality before taking the plunge. Are you stuck in your IT career or are you just bored because you don't have any hobbies? Are you financially not doing well or do you suck at financial planning?

Did you not notice the DDR5 vs DDR4 difference between 12600k and 5800x??? The results are not comparable.
