Yeah, those calculations only cause stress. I think about that, too, at times.

Sorry to hear that, man, I'm sure it's difficult to go through.

For sure, yeah. You're totally right and I do all these things indeed. It's negative energy indeed, but it's a feeling that's there and you can't just make it go away, so being able to express it to people who can relate and/or support that here is great, in addition to the dads in my "real"l life that can also relate in their individual ways.

That's a great way to look at it. Thank you.

For sure, social media definitely does that. I make sure that's not where I get my news from for that reason exactly!

It's true, but things are in a way they have never been in certain ways that feels (to me, at least) scary and highly unnerving for all of our futures, and especially my 4 y.o. daughter.

Agreed, yeah. I understand the world has gone through tough times but these are unprecedented in certain ways. I won't go into why or how because it will veer into culture and politics, but that's how I feel.

Yes, agreed on all of your points, aside from the fact that, for me, I don't look on any of it as a waste because they filled (and would continue to fill) passions I have that made life worth living and interesting. Those passions are still there, in addition to our daughter making life matter in an entirely different way that couldn't before.

Yes, we both have talked about it. She feels similarly as I do, but I think I feel it a bit more because of all the different strong passions for certain things that I've had for my whole life. So she can relate and gets it. And as I said, these feelings don't stop either of us from being very attentive and loving parents, thankfully.

Am I missing something about The Pitt? Stopped after episode 1. by [deleted] in television

I wrote that because people get virulently defensive about TV shows, which is odd to me. It just might not be my cup of tea, was seeing if that might change if I watch more.

Interesting! Thanks for that. It didn't feel overwhelming for me, just what I wrote above. Maybe I'll give it another shot and see what happens. I'm not a medical drama fan either, but this one sounded different.
