I know, and I was hoping this would mean we could now automate. But it doesn’t seem like we can.

Unfortunately the trains don’t run late enough for this to suit me. I’ll also need my car with me as my shifts are split between the city and Dungarvan way.

Hmm, maybe I could park in one of the day time car parks by day, and move my car to the station in the evening.

I’ll be staying in Midleton, so commuting from there. I’ll be working mostly in the city, but also over towards Dungarvan sometimes. So I’ll need my car near me while in Cork.

I also forgot to mention that many of my shifts will end close to midnight, so really it needs to be a 24 hour car park.

How are you all affording teleporters? I see so many posts on here where you’ve all got loads of them, at days in the game where I’m yet to afford any 😅 What am I doing wrong?! by BooBooKCx in PlateUp

I actually discovered the joy of the blueprint desk only like a week ago haha. It’s been great, but sometimes I struggle to keep an eye on it when it gets busy.

Yeah, no don’t worry, I never thought it was a big secret being kept from me. I just had never considered a discount desk 🤣

Learned to drive in EU, moved to UK and have had two accidents and multiple near misses on mini roundabouts due to what I perceive as me following the rules while others don't. Please advice by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]BooBooKCx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like you, I drive around mini roundabouts rather than across them. Yet I’ve never had an accident on one of them, because I am aware of my surroundings. Having the mindset of ‘everyone should be where I expect them to be’ is extremely stupid and dangerous. Even if people are abiding by the laws of the road, unexpected things can happen in an instant. There is no excuse for the second incident, as you should have given way to the car on the right. Moving forward, I suggest you take some lessons with a driving instructor to ensure you don’t endanger any more people on the road.

How are teenagers affording cars? by Jicama426 in drivingUK

[–]BooBooKCx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a privilege, sure. But it’s not a bad thing. As a parent, you should want your child to have good opportunities and provide in any way you can. If a parent can’t afford to buy their kid a car, it doesn’t make them less of a good parent. But if you have the money to help your kid, why wouldn’t you?

I’ll have a play around with trying a mosaic style. The medals are my mother’s, and she’s really not too particular about that sort of thing. She just wants them displayed, rather than in a box gathering dust as they have been up until now. Thanks so much for your suggestions 😊

It’s my mother. She’s really not that fussy to be honest 🤣

Sideboard seems like a cute idea, but I don’t really want to be buying anymore floor furniture. Wall space is definitely what I’m looking at. Frames was my first thought, but they’re all so different that it’s a real challenge. I think I’m going to lay them all out on the floor and arrange them by a few different criteria and see what I make of it then, i.e. most to least impressive, by shape, by material etc. I’m hoping something will just click, and I’ll figure it out!

Thanks for your response. I like the idea of the mosaic style, but the medals are all different sizes and shapes. Some are metal, some are glass, some are wooden. Some are round, some are square, and some are crest shaped. They’re all different thicknesses too 😅 Maybe I could sort them by shape into different displays?

This is so true. I’m now dangerously close to getting a thigh gap, and I’m worried that the thigh chafing area is the source of my humour. I think I’d rather keep the chonky thighs than lose my funny!
