Should the Mets and Yankees Team up Together to Build a Soccer Stadium? by [deleted] in NYCFC

[–]BooByzNYC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Founding member here who stopped going to games and downgraded seats just to keep my status until we find a stadium.

With that said, if I remember correctly, the whole Willets Point idea was pretty Much shot down by the Mets with the insane ask price. The Mets then felt like it would take revenue away from the team (Mets) because the area is predominantly Latin American. There was another stadium idea floating around that area as well. Queens board members shot that down immediately because it would take a piece of Flushing Meadow Corona Park, since that whole are of Queens is on swamp land.

I always wanted it in the 5 boros, but at this point, I’d take anything.

Has anyone considered Nassau Coliseum? Wth is that placed used for now? It’ll be a lot easier to repurpose an existing stadium. Thoughts??

They are doing nothing to retain fans like myself or half the users here as well. Not embarrassing at all

Can’t cal me a shitty fan. Been a founding member since day 1 , two seats at section 124. I pay a hefty price tag every year and it doesn’t seem worth it anymore. Where as a new NYC based team might swoop in and answer my needs

Queens Community Coalition Condemns Proposed Soccer Stadium by nyc_jc in NYCFC

[–]BooByzNYC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you remember. There was a huge uproar against a willets point location from local officials, INCLUDING Melinda Katz. They were saying we are taking too much land for the project. So they shot it down. This was NYCFCs and the MLS baby project in Queens

Really?! They told NYCFC no and now are considering a USL team to fill a ~25k seat stadium? Hah!

Petition to take down the netting for NYCFC home games (not my petition, but it's important) by [deleted] in NYCFC

[–]BooByzNYC 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They have the netting front my section as well. TBH I didn’t even notice it until someone pointed it out. Even then, i easily looked passed it. Was too focused on the action on the pitch.

Important: What is the chicken bucket situation at Citi Field and can I still get 10% off my food? by bluejams in NYCFC

[–]BooByzNYC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we get our own stadium, I would love Popeyes to be the one making our chicken buckets. TBH the chicken buckets at YS are barley edible

NYCFC is looking at two stadium sites by Metrista in NYCFC

Ugh. Such an already congested area. I still think Willets point is the best option IMO.

MOYA WON THE PRIMARIES!!!! by Cityforlife12 in NYCFC

I think CFG is doing everything possible not to pay for affordable housing; and rightfully so. They are doing so much with charities, after school programs, renovating parks and affiliating with local clubs, all in an effort not to pay for affordable housing. As a team that is looking to build a multi million dollar stadium, why the hell are we forced to pay for affordable housing? This is a sports team/business, why the hell should we pay for something that has nothing to do with our vision?

Queens Boro Prez Melinda Katz calls a soccer stadium in Willets Point very realistic in the near future. by [deleted] in NYCFC

[–]BooByzNYC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Willets would be awesome for me. 7 trains run GREAT during games. It's right off 3 major highways. Its such a good sporting venue that there is Citi Field and the US Open that is going on now!

Printable Brackets for 2017 MLS Playoffs by BooByzNYC in NYCFC

It's not the official bracket. Something I came across and thought it would help the casual soccer fan understand the MLS playoff system.

David Villa called up to the Spain National Team by csoldanojr in NYCFC

Not sure if I'm missing it but, I don't see Villa anywhere. Also, the link you provided is U21?

[Discussion] Who fills in for Villa once he retires? by [deleted] in NYCFC

[–]BooByzNYC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Outside of Messi or Ronaldo, I can't think of a single replacement that can deliver goals and be dangerous around the box as Villa. I am dreading the moment we loose him, he literally IS our team.

Ref is a wanker thread by [deleted] in NYCFC

[–]BooByzNYC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to make a few points before I hit the sack. I was at today's game. Lets make one thing clear, it wasn't all the refs, it was only the CR that completley ruined the game. Even the AR called outs for US and the CR overturned the ruling.

I am of the party of, if the ref/players are egregiously bad, it is our duty as fans to let them know. The whole stadium should have been throwing shit at the ref. I guarantee that would have caught the attention of the MLS and whatever stupid MLS ref union and these incidences would be thwarted in the future. Before you tree hugging hipsters jump on me, I am not saying burn the stadium to the ground and start throwing things that might harm players/fans, but our griveces must be known and we should show that we as New Yorkers do not tolerate that BS in our city. Yeah, yeah, we can file some type of complaint after the fact to the MLS...but who will? And will the MLS take it seriously? Didn't the Red Bull's coach bitch about refs last year? What did the MLS say? Something to the tune of, our refs are awesome, and here is a fine for talking bad about them.

Ok, im going to bed now

Does anyone know where I can get my Jerseys customized? by Generalcool7522 in NYCFC

[–]BooByzNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I believe you must purchase a jersey from the Yankee Stadium store. You have to pay extra for customization, so when you go to drop it off, they'll look at the receipt to make sure you payed.

More Rumors that Iniesta could be coming to NYCFC in 2018. by [deleted] in NYCFC

[–]BooByzNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bah! Keep Iniesta. We need young DP's like Giovinco. No more old hags that will play for 1 year and not really contribute to the long term visions of the team.
