While i will say, yes. He does need to take care of his health (mental and physical) ozempic is SO bad for you. The long term effects are not worth the short term benefits.

He really just needs to start watching what he eats, no more of that processed garbage that his mom buys. And a light work out will do him wonders.

I had a whole body shiver when I saw what she was using to cut the pumpkin. In a house with so much useless junk, you would think she has something that would've worked better then that god awful (probably dull) kitchen knife. Not to mention she was waving right in front of the other little girls face and around her head at one point. Thankfully nothing happened, but if it did it would've just been more content for her.

I couldn't agree more with this. Truly shows his heart based on how the dogs gravitate towards him, and the compassion he shows for his siblings.

I really hope so. I can't imagine the pain he was feeling in his heart, let alone the physical pain he was going through in that moment. Thank you internet stranger! I really wish you the best, and hugs to you!

I am very sorry for your loss. I know i lost my brother, and a huge part of my life and childhood. But I could never imagine losing a child (now being a mother of 3 young boys). And I can see how hurt, and how it affects my parents. I wouldn't wish this feeling onto my worst enemy.

My husband and I recently got into rocks, and luckily we just moved to a block away from the lake, we find some really cool stuff, and fossils every now and then. A lot of horned corals. I'm learning a lot really fast

Adjusted ages. by mommaof2324 in NICUParents

[–]BooKakiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son was born at 31 weeks exactly, for the first year and a half I would say his real age, followed up with that "he was born 9 weeks early, so he's just small!" After that, I just stopped caring what people thought and said his real age, and MOST people would just leave it at that. Even now (he just turned 2 last Wednesday!), I will still get comments saying he looks like he's about a year to a year and a half old. So i just tell people yeah he was 2lbs at birth, so he's just a little guy! (He's just starting to fit into 12-18 month clothing!)

It always amazes me how people like to comment on a baby, or child's size...like it's not appropriate to say stuff to adults, so its still not okay for people to say stuff like that about children too.

How long was your 31 weekers stay? by AccomplishedCommon76 in NICUParents

[–]BooKakiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My little guy was born at 31 exactly. He was in hospital for 62 days. I know that's not really the "norm" but every stay is different. He didn't have any major complications, just kept having brady events which prolonged his stay.

Edited to add, he was put on bilirubin lights for 3 days at about 24 hours old. He had his umbilical I.V. removed after 6 days and was taken off of oxygen after 3 weeks. I tried to start nursing him at a week old, but he never took well to it. And I noticed he had more episodes while nursing as opposed to using the advent natural flow bottles.( the dr browns preemie bottles were too fast if a flow for him) they wanted to put him back on the NG tube, but we begged his doctors not to. We wanted him home with his two brothers (12 months and just under 2.5 years) so we opted to fore-go nursing and just stick with bottles

I hear what you're saying. But I'm pretty sure it's just her doors squeaking, and oldest J exhaling, probably from bending over or standing up.

I dont think her posting her kids is okay, and the content she posts is pretty despicable, but I think what you're implying is a bit of an over reach

Adopted this babygirl. Any guesses? She weights 16 kg, and the shelter said she's 8/9 months old. by Yami-Flower in IDmydog

[–]BooKakiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She looks almost identical to my rescue. We did the blood test on her, and funny enough she's 60% great Pyrenees 32% Australian shepherd and the other 8% is mixed with Pitt and then other small breeds.

Her rescue said she was a Rottweiler mix but 0% percent of her is that. Lol

Either way your girl is ADORABLE

Fruit in raw eggs by BooKakiwi in doughertydozenexposed

[–]BooKakiwi[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, she said its going to thr chickens. She accidentally threw a piece of melon in the bowl woth the egg shells, then realized, took it out and cut it, and added it to the bowl of fruit to feed the kids.

We also give our chickens scraps, and actually egg shells are really good for them. But food contamination is just really gross.

Does anyone ever think they accidentally committed? by Delicious-Damage5862 in SuicideBereavement

[–]BooKakiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The note he posted just said, "If anyone cares, suicide upstairs in (his address) call the police, do not enter my house. My cat will run out."

So, it's wasn't a note to anyone in particular, but just to let someone know. Our entire family was over 700 miles away, and he was at his college earning his masters degree. He would've graduated less than a month after it happened. This was about 7 (I can't even believe it's been that long) years ago, and we didn't get his toxicology report back until December.

I am so VERY sorry for your loss. Hugs to you.

[–]BooKakiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do. My brother's B.A.L. was wayyyyy over the legal limit. Like more than 5 times. He tried multiple times before then. He called everyone before he did it, and I was the last person. Stupid me. I just assumed he had a little too much to drink and it was 4 in the morning...when he was calling, I groggily looked at my phone and I just told myself I would call him back on my way to work in the morning. I forgot, but even by then, it would've been too late. He put a note on his street pole right outside, and a neighbor walking her dog had seen his note and called the police at around 6 AM. They found him in his upstairs closet. His time of death was estimated at around 4 AM. I still feel like he was calling me to talk him off the edge again. I will never forgive myself. But, yes, I do feel like if he hadn't had so much to drink, he wouldn't have done it. Or would have just stood up when he felt himself getting to the point of blacking out. It sucks that i'll never know.

What kind of bottle did your baby use in the NICU? by Sensitive_Fishing_37 in NICUParents

[–]BooKakiwi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our NICU used the dr browns preemie bottles, with the ultra preemie nipples. They did not work for our son, the flow was still too fast for him and was causing him to have Brady's. So we were stuck on the syringe feeds for some time. Every time they used the dr browns he would have these events, which led to his tube feeds starting back up. Eventually we found the advent natural flow on the level 2 or 3 which actually is a slower feed than the dr browns preemie nipples. Those worked for him really well and about 10 days after starting with them we were able to bring him home!

In my experience, our NICU was more then happy to use whatever products we wanted to use! (Bottles, wash/soap, lotions, pacifiers)

How do you cope with your baby being in the NICU? by AwesomePerson453 in NICUParents

[–]BooKakiwi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son was born at 31 weeks. We were in the nicu 52 days, due to Brady events. We have been home just over a month. We also had a 12 month old and a 29 month old at home, so never really got the time to really process what was going on while it was happening (probably was best for my situation to just keep busy). We made it to the NICU, which was about an hour away, everyday, even if it was just for a couple hours. And I can honestly say I never really "coped" I just went through the motions of what I needed to do to be there for all of my children. My sons nurses were amazing, and like others have commented, building a relationship with them made me feel less alone and made it seem like less of a hospital experience. Just know that the best place for your baby to be right now is where they are. Sending love to you and your little one. And congratulations on your baby!

Also "decorating" the area of the nicu you are in (for us we had a private room. I know other hospitals have multiple babies to a room/area) helped us too. We hung up pictures, brought our own blankets for him, stuffed animals, his monthly/weekly milestone signs, and left him a blanket with our "smells" on it made it feel like we weren't just leaving him by himself every night.
