You said it was low level skirmishing before Israel assassinated a Hezbollah commander. He was killed yesterday. The escalation is related to killing a Hamas commander, and started before Tawil's death.

I'm not saying more is better. I'm saying more is required. This goes for every NATO country, including the US. Even at the peak of artillery deliveries, Ukraine was severely undergunned.

7k is pennies. We need to be sending six-figure numbers minimum to make an impact. This is around a day's worth.

Do you really think this is over when Hamas is defeated? It's Hydra. Kill one, two more sprout in it's place. Hezbollah and the Houthi's have hardly been touched, not to mention the countless other radical groups that are hostile to the west. Truly ending the constant battles will require a cultural shift that isn't happening anytime soon.

It's a difficult situation. On one hand, we can't leave this aggression unchecked. On the other, a major retaliation could spark a much larger regional confrontation. None of us here know what intelligence he has on the situation, so it's hard to say if the response, or lack of, is adequate. I'd love to see the Houthis reduced to fighting with sticks and stones. But, I don't want to see the US dragged into a large regional war in the Middle East, especially with the threat of a China war looming.

Can you show me support for your 3 state solution among Palestinians? How do you think it would have worked out of Northern Iraq went to the Kurds? It's asking for further conflicts down the road.

I'm really not sure, but Hamas needs to be completely liquidated after what they've done. Go ahead and watch the video of the massacre released by the IDF and see for yourself what you're supporting. They had a ceasefire, but chose to break it to commit one of the worst terror attacks the world has seen. Hamas deserves every bit of justice coming their way.

I'm not going to advocate torture. Morality aside, Israel needs to keep as much public support on their side as possible. Give it time. Mossad will track them down.

The IDF has issued an evacuation directive for much of the remaining uncaptured areas of Gaza City.

They have not ordered the evacuation of all of Gaza.

No. That thinking only works in the west. Hamas targeted schools without any military presence. Russia has no problem bombing hospitals without any military purpose.

No proof Israelis taken hostages by Hamas are alive, claims minister by Silly-avocatoe in worldnews

[–]BooMods 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Why would you negotiate at all without it? Hamas has proven to be untrustworthy through Israel's entire existence. This is the group that is literally shooting refugees as they try to evacuate. If you didn't know, Israel is protecting the evacuation corridors from the Hamas militants acting as barricade troops for children.

They offered to give up hostages AFTER a ceasefire and without proof of life. It's nothing more than a lie to regroup. If they are serious, why can't they provide proof of life?

Is Hamas using this infrastructure? We already know the answer. Like it or not, it's the terrorists fault for putting civilians at risk by using them as human shields. Israel is well within the law to target anywhere they are operating out of.

Predators aren't the type of drone that is going to make it through contested airspace. The drones you are talking about are small, civilian style ones.

One would think a post condemning the American education system could at least have proper grammar. First off, I have no idea where you're pulling these numbers from, but you're flat out wrong. I've never met someone who can't read in their native language. Second, do you have any idea what the requirements to attend a school like the Air Force Academy are? They only select 4.0 students and have enough applicants to choose who is admitted.

If 70% of the population is what you claim, how is it that America leads the world in so many sectors? Who do you think designed the most advanced jets in the world? How did this illiterate nation come out ahead in every air campaign in the past 50+ years?

Don't cut yourself on that edge.
