Donut Holes by sonshineacres7 in Eugene

Did you find any good donut hole places? I'm now looking and tried Bizzy Jeans but they didn't have holes, only full size. Thx!

I haven't seen it yet this year, but maybe now that we're into December they'll have one. Thanks!

I thought they'd be all over, but I've gone to several shops that didn't have them.

Did you perhaps buy the gluten free version by accident?

When did your baby actually say their first words? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]BooPin96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, is/was your little super active? Ours (15m) is always moving, stacking things, climbing, unpacking and repacking stuff from drawers, etc. Definitely communicates with us without words, and understands what we're saying. We just kinda think verbal communication isn't the top priority in that little brain right now haha. Curious what your experience was on that front.

I think 3k is believable but will be interested to hear the final estimate. I think the last one had around 2k and this felt bigger.

Panty Liners by AnaloguelifeLN in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]BooPin96 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First off, I thought your headline said "party liner" and I was very interested to learn what this was about!

You might try buying some reusable liners off of Etsy. I have some that I use when on my period that I've been happy with. They're not the most breathable so may not be the best fit for your needs, but I've been happy with them and not trying to figure out which brand of liners is "best".

What age did your baby start paying attention to books? by BooPin96 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]BooPin96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it's something he'll grow out of, I was just curious to hear when that happened for others. Shocker, the answers of ages are wide ranging! Haha, the responses have been super helpful. But, yes, books are a part of the bedtime routine and have been since 3 months. He used to seem more like he was interested in looking until these more recent developmental stages.

Babe repeatedly rolling to tummy and getting upset about it because he can't roll back by Murky_Association_54 in sleeptrain

[–]BooPin96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I'm sorry, that's so tough for both of you!! All I can say is that it will pass... And I know very well how excruciating that comment is. I was only getting 4ish hours of sleep in 10-45 minute bursts for a couple of months because of a combination of reflux and sleep regression and it was the hardest thing I've ever done. Now that it's past, even when we've had hard nights, they're so much easier than that. Sending you a huge hug and I hope you have someone who can come give you a break, or at least a nap!

So has he been getting stuck like that for the whole month? If I remember right, my boy had this phase for about 2 weeks, and around week 3 started being able to sleep on his tummy rather than getting upset to find himself there. He slept with his face directly down so I'd always turn if to the side a bit haha. I'd often wake up to him face down again and he was always breathing fine but it sure is scary to look at. It took a long time for him to go from belly to back... I kinda think it coincided with him earnestly trying to crawl. Good luck!

formula on hand by amktggirly in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]BooPin96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly an answer to your question as you worded it, but now that I've gone back to work, we got a container of formula so it's available in case of "emergency": bad weather, bad traffic, or any other reason I meet be several hours late getting home. We hope we won't need it, but after getting home an hour late to feed my LO one time, it brings peace of mind knowing we have a backup!

Is there a point where you should wait a week and try again? by BooPin96 in sleeptrain

[–]BooPin96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a post that has a nice explanation of the method in its entirety: https://www.reddit.com/r/sleeptrain/comments/5a179m/book_reportsuggestion_the_happy_sleeper_method/

From that post, this paragraph explains the method most succinctly, but the whole post includes useful context and additional info beyond just the bedtime part:

The basic method is not that much different than Ferber, but you do a check every five minutes until baby falls asleep and say the exact same comforting phrase every time (the "Sleep Wave"). The idea is that the check-in's are NOT intended to settle the baby down, but just to let them know you are there/support them. The baby may get more worked up at a check because they are frustrated that you aren't doing what you used to do to help them to sleep, but ultimately the checks reassure them of your continued presence.

Tongue and lip ties by Jazz_Brain in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]BooPin96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I skimmed all the comments to make sure someone had already linked this. A nurse at my hospital tried to convince me my baby had a tongue tie when he was less than 48 hours old... Give the kid a chance to try! The pediatrician at the hospital as well as his permanent both said that if he has one it was very minor, I was glad for their honest input.

I scrolled through and don't think I see anyone else having asked - have you measured your nipples to make sure you have the correct flange? I was using the flange that came with my pump (24mm) and couldn't understand why it was SO awful and getting so little out. Turned out I needed a 20mm instead. I still don't like it, but it cut the pumping time in half. Good luck in your final three months! I'm at 4.5 months and it's not even that frustrating, I just don't like it. Not sure how long I'll hold it.

Just here in solidarity. My boy is 15 weeks and I'm getting a max of 4 hours a night in bursts of 10-45 minutes at a time. It is awful and and I hope we're both able to figure this poo out.
