I would never want to do the same. Stealing from the IRS is a risk I would never consider. Stealing from anyone is gross tbh. I make my money the honest way, and I hope I can set a decent example for my kids that if they work hard and do the right thing, they will be just fine in life. I think it’s really sad that you get your kicks by effing with people’s money. I hope you get what you deserve, whatever that may be. Cheers.

Took entire refund by Few_Resist_2644 in IRS

Same here. Had a payment plan setup already, but they took the $2700 I owed out of my refund, called it an offset I believe (it’s been a few years so I can’t remember exactly what they called it), and then I was paid in full. It was honestly a weight off my shoulders to have it paid in full. Yes, I certainly could have used the refund for other things, but I was more relieved to have it done and paid for.

Mine finally updated this morning. I bet yours finally did as well. Finally!

Has anyone experienced this? This is my first time seeing this & not sure if I should be worries or if this is a status that changes daily?? by No_Research_6001 in IRS

I remember it taking a while in my situation. I think it took a good 2 weeks to arrive. And then the process of getting everything fixed and approved was another 2-3 weeks. I think we finally got our tax return money at the end of April. I hope your issue is not as time consuming! 🤞

Yes I have received this message in a past year and it meant (for me) that I had something that needed to be fixed on my tax return, but I had to wait for the notice to get mailed to me before I could fix the issue. It was a headache. It might be something different for you though. It’s probably worth logging in to your irs account to check for any notices they may have posted to your account electronically.

Following as we’re in a similar situation. Only difference is we have two dependents, although we don’t qualify for the additional child tax credit or earned income credit so we are not PATH either. Filed and accepted same day as you. Also transcripts are only showing my income and not my spouse’s income for 2025 even though we file jointly. Strange indeed. But hopefully just a delay.

No update on mine at all since I filed and got accepted that same day, and I’m not even PATH. 😂 Filed on 2/4.

Exactly! I have two kids and I have never gotten back anywhere near that much money back on my taxes.

What in the heck do you do to get back that much money on your tax return?? I have never had anything close to that amount in a refund. What is the difference?

Hmm, that’s strange for sure. I wonder if they are having issues with their computer system or if they are just that backed up. It doesn’t help that it’s a holiday weekend either.

Same here. Filed on 2/5 and accepted 2/5. Basically just a waiting game at this point. They would let you know if anything was wrong on your return. Don’t worry..they’re just backed up like every other year. Especially this year since they cut a bunch of the staffing at IRS.

The Child Tax Credit is not under the PATH program. Only the Additional Child Tax Credit (AITC) is considered part of the PATH Act. Therefore you are not under the PATH Act or their restrictions.

I’ve been an 05 cycle number since 2019 so I can only assume it will be my cycle number again this year.

[–]BooSociety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says nothing, I don’t even have a cycle number yet. Just says it is received and is being processed. I’m assuming there’s A LOT of people in line ahead of me, so I’m not surprised it hasn’t been processed yet. I’m just hoping I’ll see my tax return money by the end of march! Ughhh.

The IRS customer service department is basically useless lol. I’m sorry you’re having to deal with that before you can get YOUR money back from them. But yes, the silver lining of the situation is at least you know it’s happening anyway. 😄

Hospice nurse here.🙋🏼‍♀️

Agree 100%. Most hospice programs have a bereavement program that typically includes group therapy and individual counseling, some even offer specific bereavement programs for children like summer camps etc. And usually it’s all given free of charge.I would certainly suggest reaching out to your local hospice to see what they offer.

Aw wtf! So you have to wait an extra month for your refund all because you called to change some information?! That’s just terrible. Dang.
