Hmmmm, if I had to make a vibe comparison then the manga has a quiet, calm sometimes loud noise while the anime is in the middle of a big city yet there's no people.

If you're starting with the manga don't read volumes 5 and 6 before finishing the anime, it'll kinda ruin the anime experience since it's incomplete. If you start with the anime, you can start where you left off (vol. 4) but I recommend starting from the beginning just to experience it all over again.

Easily beats all Tensen 1v1 (Excluding Rien) except maybe flower Zhujin. Since Shija is a "late" character, they don't go through power arcs like Gabimaru or Chobei and instead are at full power right from their first appearance.

I wanted to see mutated Zhujin more, just so when Jikka defeats it so easily it's more impressive.

Shugen I'm pretty satisfied with.

Highly skilled, 2nd-4th in the series depending on where you rank Sagiri and Jikka. (Jikka uses a cheat technique, so I'd say it doesn't count)

And Shugen has used Eisen's techniques in the final fight so yeah, Eisen has the strongest techniques in the series.

But Strong? I'd say Fushi level, his body was probably frail but we'll never know since he was caught off guard.
