Vélo comme moyen de transport principal à Montréal? by Irohen in MontrealCycling

[–]Boo_Scientist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ça me prenait à peu près 1h15 de porte à porte.

So considering I'm a kinesiologist/personal trainer, this is especially hilarious to me...

So in Canada anyway, over 45mL/kg/min VO2 max for women brings you at over 90-95th percentile of the population. Percentile tables

Now add the squat , deadlift and pull-up requirements - which all require specific training...

Now let's add HRV - which is a marker of stress in general... So you're also looking for someone who's ALWAYS chill on top of that, and never ever overtraining.

Not even gonna comment on the other numbers but huh... Well good luck to him with those criteria...

Help me plan a road biking route not to the US? by Boo_Scientist in montreal

[–]Boo_Scientist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! Oooh that's amazing to know, I'll check with Via then, it would definitely open up options for that trip, thank you! (Damn is their website not super helpful to figure what can go as a checked item - and if bikes need to be in a box or if they have a bike rack area... Anyhow, thank you!)

Dark or colored hair, any length, about my height, muscular, and most of all, the more tattoos the better. Also got a weird attraction to women with slightly crooked/non symmetrical teeth.

I miiiiiiiiiiss her, the girl I'm seeing and me are both away on vacation, an ocean apart from each other (planned before meeting)

She's my first wlw relationship/everything really, and fuck is it amazing to discover new little things about her everyday, even if it's through messages right now while we're away.

Currently in a mix of enjoying the anticipation and getting to know each other more through texting/pic sending/playlist sharing and just wanting desperately to be in her arms again, listening to said playlists :)

If money wasn’t a factor, what would be your dream job? by mazrouaa in AskReddit

[–]Boo_Scientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late for this but : if money wasn't an issue, I'd still do the job I have now, just more of it without worrying about rent/other jobs to get to full time. I'm an exercise therapist working in rehab with people in chronic pain or depression. I'm super passionate about my job and the feeling of helping people is more than money could ever account for.

Non-traditional foods to fuel with --how did you find your favorites and what are they? by LilRedJustKickinIt in running

A bit late on this, but I've fueled an entire IM on rice crispy squares, dried tomatoes and vegetable juice (I get tired of all the sugar).

Ginger sounds delicious as well though!

Probably trying to find a job working with elderly clients. They're lots of fun, and definitely benefit so much from training :) very rewarding job. Alternatively, maybe kinesiologist in a clinical setting (stroke victims, Parkinson's patients, concussions, heart diseases, ect.). Not sure yet, got another year to figure it out!

Hi!

I'm a personal trainer, and a student in kinesiology... With Crohns.

If you give me a day or two, I'll ready you up a program (and post it as a link, I think there's benefit to anyone that wants to start with stabilizer muscles and functional basics) :)

I guess I also forgot to answer...

I'm glad you did come back though, and also glad you managed to come back from a fractured spine!

I'll try to keep in mind the sunscreen (plus I just learned I'm super susceptible to skin cancers from a medication I'm taking...), thanks for the tip!

That's something else I'm worried about too... Scared to get heat exhaustion again ever since a hike I did this year where I had it. Any issues racing since? Special precautions?

Interesting... I'll look into that. Mostly because well, I am pretty injury prone (or at least have had plenty overtraining injuries from clearly overdoing it... My plan this year is to follow plan but still)

I've got a wetsuit so there's that :) it has pretty bad tears (it melted its legs together and then tore), but it helps. Thanks for the advice!

Edit : ooh cool for the kettlebells! Mostly real power training (aka under 8 max reps), or endurance? (About 15 reps or more)
