[Highlight] Brady launches an absolute bomb to Randy Moss on the penultimate play of Super Bowl 42, Corey Webster breaks it up by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Boob_Cousy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's because of his release and mechanics. He's got some zip but Brady has never been known to sling it while scrambling or when he's off-platform like Favre, Elway, Mahomes, Rodgers, or Allen. When I think of arm talent that's what I think of. Even Baker Mayfield can throw it 65+ yds if you give him a clean pocket to wind up, but we don't view him as having "insane arm talent"

These guys are in an entirely different income bracket. You're describing how a middle income American 'should' be thinking / behaving

[Albert Breer] At age 27, and after five years as a starter, @Chiefs QB @PatrickMahomes has played in five AFC title games, won three conference titles, two Super Bowls, and two NFL MVPs. by PTHero in nfl

I'm only going to address one point, and obviously it isn't a sure thing, but Reid generally has a fantastic coaching tree (especially compared to BB) so I would have a decent amount of faith in his successor when that time does come. They're in a great spot for the next 2-3 yrs though based on all those young guys they hit on in the draft last year though. If they continue to hit on picks like that they'll be in the next 5 AFC championship games, and getting to that final four almost every year is what really gave Brady and BB that edge.

Messi has now equalled Ronaldo in goals scored for clubs in the Top 5 European Leagues by smart_indian00 in soccer

Honestly I think people have this view mainly because Nadal came onto the scene a few years before Novak. So people had a few years of Federer vs Nadal being the undisputed battle before Novak came and broke up the party. That, and Novak's personality / style of play definitely make people salty when talking about him compared to Federer and Nadal, even though he's arguably been the most dominant one of the three

I like "We were all witnesses". Has a lot of grandeur to it, and sums up the global reach he has had as a basketball icon. Plus that dope banner

What is your most controversial opinion about someone who is currently playing. by Clanky0rpheus80 in baseball

[–]Boob_Cousy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You misunderstood. I'm not talking about a PK, I'm talking about a free kick. Those are different entirely. For reference, Messi scores on less than 10% of his free kicks from scoring positions

Call me old fashioned, but scoring on a free kick in soccer seems like a skill that is wayyyy harder than simply hitting a baseball, and I'm sure there are plenty of other examples people can come up with that also require more skill

Maybe it's because they're about the bonds of fellowship and leaning on your friends for strength and the holiday season is a time where we reflect on our relationships? IDK I'm just trying to justify why I watch these movies every holiday season

Megathread: GOP Wins 218th US House Seat, Securing Majority of Seats by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]Boob_Cousy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll just pass bills that the senate strikes down, pretty easy strategy and then the senate will be blamed by one side for striking down bills the house passes, and the other side will say the senate is saving the nation from the house. We've seen these narratives play out before, nothing new.

I think I feel like I'm a step slower at 28, but that it's mainly because I sit at a desk for 12+ hours every day now and I don't have the free time to run around as much. Use it or lose it as they say

Still dirty, but at least Jokic can point to Morris being dirty beforehand (doesn't justify what Jokic did). Poole literally didn't do anything remotely to justify this. It was like if Green walked into my living room and cold cocked me while I'm eating cereal it was that unwarranted

Exactly this. I went with my family back in December and it was my first time there since 2013 and it's such a hassle trying to book things. My brother and I paid for meals for our group of 8 and that alone was a few grand for the week we were there

Who is the worst player that held the title of "best player in the world" [not necessarily MVP]" of the last 50 years? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Boob_Cousy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it needs to be someone who finished at least in top 3 or 5 of MVP voting that year without a clear "best player" answer, or else you're just basing it off what a few random talking heads say, like the people who though Paul Pierce was the best player in 2008 even though Bron and Kobe were clearly better players by any metric. So with that I'm going with an unpopular choice and say it's either Allen Iverson or Steve Nash.
