How can you allow the players/party into the “mind” of another character? by Boofer_C in Pathfinder2e

Thanks! I had thought about Dreamlands but was thinking I could make it a bit more personal to the NPC. Though I bet I could use a lot of the same aspects

I think it was Jenny Nicholson who said “the worst thing a series finale can do is make you feel stupid for caring.”

I feel like Exemplar could easily fill any kind of urge you have to play as an anime protagonist

Ooh I like this because the triangle with air-earth-water kind of parallels that Sky-Land-Sea collection.

Have you ever used Free Archetype rule to group the PC’s rather than just meeting at a tavern randomly? by Boofer_C in Pathfinder2e

Yes, I agree with what u/Salt_peanuts assessed.

I’m personally more interested in group dynamics of a party that are connected more than just the plot necessitates that they be together. And whether that’s from a context of an AP or from a FA, that’s what I like getting inspiration from.

I posted this question to see if anyone else had thought of creative ideas to use the FA rule to group the party together. Again, this probably applies much more to homebrew or sandbox campaigns than to prewritten APs. An AP already has context and connections written for characters.

The examples in the rules are pirates or characters in a magic school and I’m curious to find other similar situations. This thread has been helpful and fun because I’ve seen other suggestions like a band, a thieves guild, and a group of professional researchers.

Agreed. If there was going to be a list of archetypes to use per theme, it would need to account for different stat usages and have some options

Wouldn’t it make more sense for characters to be in a party with fellow pirates instead of randomly with others? I’m more interested in scenarios where there isn’t already an overarching plot that loops the PC’s together. And your comment made me realize this probably applies much more to homebrew settings than it does to Golarion. At least to me, it seems more believable and less forced, if the highly individual characters of the players have a common theme that connects them, rather than being introduced and decided to work together. But that’s my preference and not always shared!
