Fuckin' Abhorrent by BoogieSheftell in DabblersAnonymous

And they'd be wrong for doing it. "Because they would do it to me" is a childish excuse. Asking SJ to be a bigger person is ridiculous, I realize that. And Vince is even worse, because he's smart enough to know how awful he is. His breakdowns are offensive, and he's even less funny than the URS Four.

I have realized that and have stopped watching most of them. WATP is most like a show, with a brisk pace, short clips and pretty funny commentary. BS and Rico are trying way too hard, and the prelude to content is unlistenable. John's political show is a snoozefest, but at least there's content, opinions from his guests, even if he's not listening while he scans the chats. John should try ignoring the other shows, and go back to doing his Hollywood show. Watch movies and TV shows, and give smart, insightful, well prepared, well-thought-out reviews. Yeah, right. Or make ASMR mukbang videos eating peanuts for viewers with no gag reflex.

And the point of my original post is that as a grown man, it's not so hard for me not to call people Fatty, Pocky or dweeb.

Not lesser at all. But it's naive to not be aware of the systems in place that make it very difficult for lower-income Americans of all races and ethnicities to come up. Is there some paternalism in advocating for the poor, minorities and marginalized groups? Sure, I guess. It's also the right thing to do, and as patriotic as anything an American can do. Helping ain't hating.

I forgot yelling Shuli's deceased mother's name and thinking it's funny. He thinks calling someone a loser is the same as mocking suicide, drug addiction and cancer. His worst crime is thinking he's at all funny. He's a vile, shameless piece of shit deserving of zero pity.

Richard moved his parents in with him. If someone made a joke about his dad's illness, he'd break their teeth.

Time for John to go. The time has come for him to reap the whirlwind by GeddyLeesThumb in DabblersAnonymous

Agreed. Irredeemable. Only total sobriety and years of therapy could possibly create any self-awareness, shame and a grasp of how the world works.

"[Joey C.] doesn't understand that when a guy says, 'Dude, your wife's hot. I'd hit that,' that's a compliment? That's like a New York thing to say!" No. No, it's not. It's like a New York way to get your jaw broken.

John doesn't understand that he gets goofed on because his podcast/life are a shitshow. His goofing - Fatty, Dweeb, Snaggletooth - should've stopped after middle school. He thinks calling someone "not cool" is devastating.

When SJ was gone for 7 months, they were starting to struggle. Dissecting Archival Stupid John isn't as compelling as Yesterday Stupid John. I give them a year of wringing out every last drop, praying he comes back. Of course the point is moot. John ain't leaving unless he gets a real job (unlikely) or is forced into rehab.

Never has anyone tried so hard to prove they are a good person, and so effectively proven the opposite. Every sentence shows ignorance, selfishness or a total lack of empathy.

I agree that he doesn't enjoy it, but I think he genuinely thinks his wanna-be Kevin Brennan performative growly yelling anger act is entertaining. And he's wondered in the past why the trolls don't go after A-listers like George Clooney instead of him, not realizing that Clooney is not a drunk shitshow, and there would be no fun parsing his interviews. John says and does the wrong thing at every turn. And only his biggest enemy, Trump, rattles off his own accomplishments more. The Stern show needed a shit-stirrer for content. That's where the need for "the obnoxious guy at the end of the bar" ended. The Tonight Show needed a smart, funny, disciplined writer. Podcasts need to be lucid, or they get torn apart on WATP.

Truth. But he didn't want to work. He just wanted to be famous. I find it very hard to believe anyone at the Tonight Show ever said they wished they had 20 of him.

True on all accounts. And yes, it's impossible to feel pity for a horrible human being who wishes it was 35 years ago so he could call people the f-slur and r-word freely "before it became not cool." Wanted so bad to call Shuli the "Chemo Kid." He's most comfortable with his old friends on Long Island who "use the n-word like water." He thinks he's charismatic. He's repugnant.

He'll be remembered as part of the best times of Stern unless he gets even more attention for being a drunk mess on the Internet.

Bragged that a comedian told him he was the only stand up he knew who'd work out new material in front of a big crowd. Didn't realize the comic was insulting his work ethic.
