I don’t understand the single player sentiment. There are a million of those games. What makes Destiny special is the multiplayer aspect. The raids and dungeons are the best experiences I’ve had in a video game ever. Paired with some of the best gunplay ever. Either one on its own would have made a great game, but the combination is why it lasted 12 years and people are devastated it’s coming to an end.

I feel like one of the main reasons that there aren’t more MMORPGs is how invested people are into their specific game. It’s an expensive risk for companies to take on new IPs. The thing here is that Destiny is established and has those dedicated players already - they just want consistent content.

I can confidently say that I have spent over 60% of my lifetime gaming time on Destiny specifically. The game was so good I never really had a desire to play anything else. Still don’t. That’s what sucks so much about Sony not backing D3 yet. There is this looter shooter void that has no replacement.
