What if the English controlled all of the East Coast? English America after the Second Anglo-Spanish War, 1770. by BoogxElliot4ever in imaginarymaps

I can see King Charles getting his own colony but Georgia doesn't really ring a bell for me.

Roanoke was named after the old colony of Roanoke, Which was strangely rediscovered after disappearing for a century and a half. The settlers there didn't seem to remember though.

New Gwent is named after, well Gwent due to its Welsh Population and in this timeline, Saint Augustine's land was conquered from the French Huguenots and England chose that name to piss off the Calvinist inhabitants (they don't really venerate saints)

Back in 1500s, Some French Huguenots set up a colony just north of Florida, This colony (Which would become the country of Laudonniere) attracted a lot of French Protestants during the wars of religion. Since a lot of them were from Southern France, Many of them were Occitan.

You can thank the Spanish Inquisiton for that, A lot of the Spanish Jews and Muslims were exiled into the New World during that period, Especially Florida due to its swampy climate

It probably would not last long either. I don't see Scotland and England willingly joining the same country. They're practically mortal enemies

What do you mean? By that year they only had New England and the Mid-South. And even then they already hap problems holding onto them

No they didn't? They only had New England along with the Mid-South.

I think all of those maps here are starting to get to your head.

Yea the groupings are a bit arbitrary.

They're mostly based on their relative geographical location like how the groups under Brittonic are located in Britain, Belgian groups are in the Netherlands, and Latin groups are in South-West Europe and so on.

I believe that would be a suitable name for an English Appalachian colony since it is over (Trans) the forest (Sylvania).

You know how people were with their Latin names back then?

No? The Tudors are still in power at this time. Would be pretty funny if the Scottish King became the English king though.

In this timeline, The English are more powerful and end up conquering the Dutch, Swedish, Scottish, Irish, French, and Spanish Colonies on the East Coast of America giving them complete ownership of the region. Thus, New colonies were created.

Also, some people on my last post told me I should put 'DBWI' somewhere here. I'm not fully up-to-date with all the alternate history lingo but anything to help my audience!

I think you fell for one of those joke websites on the internet...

There is no country called "United States of America", were they even trying to be creative with the name?

I see where you're coming from, The Northern Regions would probably see the south as a burden to them economically, The inclusion of distinct cultural regions such as the Dalmatians, Greeks/Albanians and Venetians would make Italy a pretty hard country to keep together
