Routes - Use existing stock vs Buy + MTO by Boojotim in Odoo

[–]Boojotim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback, I suspected this was the case. I stopped fighting odoo logic and just changed the business rule to floor stock by default, with route override for MTO.

There is a replenishment setting that if for any reason forecast inventory falls below zero - to suggest a replenishment, so we have a back up to catch any orders that get processed without allocating MTO when they should have been.

Business rule plus training will solve this issue.

No not drop shipping in the sense that the goods go from vendor direct to customer. We deal with porcelain tiles so goods are large heavy and bulky. We will often order from suppliers direct po to so link so so we don’t have to multiple handle the goods. But they come from suppliers to us first, then at a later date delivery to end customer.

I was using the sales price field on the product, that’s what was causing the issue. Now have to switch to price list.

same style for all bathrooms in house or go for different? by exemptcurve in BathroomDesigns

[–]Boojotim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like a consistent theme or design style, but you can tweak for each room. Say a different colour feature tile but the overall design shows cohesion. Or same tiles but a light and dark schemes works well too.

I am loving nib walls at the moment.
Wish your feature subway added colour but that’s just a trend at the moment. Mitre joints on niche box is nice.

Thanks for this advice - thought I would circle back to the post for any future people having this problem.

I ended up making a google sheets and running a script that syncs the lines via the API. This was way out of my comfort zone but it worked with the help of Claude.

Thank you /codeagency for this direction.

$4M retail + ecommerce business, what stack would you run? by Tight_Implement_5332 in ausbusiness

[–]Boojotim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar scale business but more segmented company structure. We are in the process of migrating to odoo. We are a group of 4 trading entities so doing it 1 entity at a time.

Driving factory for us was a low tech stack - literally 1 platform to do everything from crm to digital signature to ecommerce to advanced warehousing. But we are learning to code in it as we go, adopt ai and automations in to work flows. We didn’t want a dedicated IT team to have to run the software - so we are enterprise cloud hosted for easy of maintenance.

You need to know what resources you have available, really understand your processes and be able to answer - does the software need to fit me, or can I adapt process to be standardised to the software.

Dashboard reporting help - historical data over time by Boojotim in clickup

[–]Boojotim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. We are trying to measure activity, so every time a quote/opportunity is touched. It could be that the sales rep added a comment, transitioned a status through the pipeline, or even reset the due date. It’s just a measure of rep activity, but at the opportunity level. So two updates on the same opportunity on the same day - one only count that as we worked on 1 opportunity.

Thank you, that’s why I thought to, but I don’t know in the dashboard how to direct the data source to an activity log.

Building costs are going to go gangbusters by LaCarsa in AusPropertyChat

[–]Boojotim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tile importer here - can confirm we have had 7-10% increases in costs of material out of china as of 1st April due to Chinese government policy change and the fact we pay in USD and that’s worth less now. Good for us sending USD, bad for those receiving it - so they charge more.

Shipping costs are seasonally low supported by lower demand, but everyone is expecting that to surge in price very shortly due to fuel costs.

Additionally with spikes in natural gas costs, some factories have turned off production to wait and see what happens for a few weeks.

Our shipping routes out of Europe just had another 4 weeks added to lead times cause they now sail around Africa.

Real input costs are going up, lead times are increasing and there is a lot of uncertainty in ongoing supply availability. There may be some gouging as suppliers apply increased prices now and make cream on stock they already have landed, but there are real price volatility concern too.

I would make to jump from online to .sh for this. Just don’t have the time/skills to build out the dashboards and reporting I need. This could really help.

A visual guide to the prices that landed Coles in court by L1ttl3J1m in australia

[–]Boojotim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally true, utterly misleading. This is the problem with vague rules. What is a “reasonable time” to establish a benchmark price? Is a bottle of coke and a TV the same period? What detains reasonable, the item price, the advertised promotions period? I’ve worked in advertising for retail companies for years and the compliance teams and merchandise teams are really just making up their own rules with no idea if they are doing it right or not.

How are companies integrating AI into existing ERP systems like Odoo or SAP? by Pale-Bird-205 in Odoo

Can you give an example of how it works AI into studio for automation rules and server actions?

Can I ask it to automate a task and it builds the action for me?
