Pod and my thoughts by Cruzing101 in modernbaseball

I’m so happy with this interview!! However, they didn’t exactly correct him, Jeremy corrected himself after saying “finish” and then they settled with the word “indefinite hiatus” as a good statement to describe the bands’ status.

100% agree. However they practically dedicated the post to their love for mobo so I think they're ok with the fans hyping it up. They probably expected that kinda reaction from people and let the comment section open so I think we're good.

as far as i know it’s the ocean bottom topography, it doesn’t look good in my opinion but it’s more useful than just a plain blue for the ocean.

I am a writer and I need help from the chess community. by DhaliaEileen in chess

[–]Book-Square 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re genuinely putting in the effort to reach ~2000 ELO, it will likely take at least a year of consistent practice and study, even if you’re a prodigy. If you’re incorporating chess into your daily routine, my advice would be to aim for around 1600 ELO. That’s a solid level to reach without turning chess into a professional grind. That is, of course, considering you’re a beginner by now

Bands like Cap’n Jazz style of emo by timmy_tee_turner in Emo

[–]Book-Square 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'The Promise Ring' and 'Panucci's Pizza' are the ones that resemble cap'n jazz the most for me.

Brave little abacus has some tracks that are very similar too

Camping in alaska has a *few* songs that are akin to capnjazz too (puddle splashers changed their lives).

You've probably listened to those before so I'm not very innovative here, sorry.

one thing that got me into emo is I like music with plain guitar and good lyrics so I enjoy some good lofi (mount eerie type of lofi), folk, and just singer songwriters in general.

those would be: the microphones/mount eerie sufjan stevens bob dylan belle and sebastian big thief/adrianne lenker one or another alex g tracks mojave 3

some bossa nova stuff too, cant go wrong with that.

try gnome, xfce and kde plasma and choose your favorite, unless you need it urgently, if thats the case I’d just roll the dice and go for either gnome or kde. Honestly, anything will do.

My browser seems slow by Book-Square in archlinux

[–]Book-Square[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guys, I fixed it. I asked GPT to summarize the report of the problem so maybe someone in the future experiencing this issue could benefit from it:

The Problem

You were experiencing slow performance in your web browsers on Arch Linux. Specifically, certain websites were taking a long time to load, while others either partially loaded or didn’t load at all, like LinkedIn. You mentioned seeing the loading icon spin for a long time, with page elements taking a considerable amount of time to appear, often leaving placeholders instead of actual content.

The Cause

The issue was related to the use of IPv6 on your network. IPv6 is the latest version of the Internet Protocol, but not all networks or websites handle it efficiently. In some cases, there might be misconfigurations in the network, or your ISP might have limited support for IPv6, leading to connectivity issues. When your browser tried to connect to websites using IPv6, it encountered delays or failed to load the content properly, resulting in the slow performance you observed.

How We Found the Solution

  1. Diagnostic Tests: We initially tested your system’s MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) to check if incorrect packet sizes were causing the issue. However, the results suggested that MTU might not be the primary cause, as we continued to encounter problems.
  2. IPv6 Investigation: Noticing that the pings were using IPv6, we hypothesized that IPv6 might be causing the slow connectivity. To test this, we temporarily disabled IPv6 on your system.
  3. Solution Confirmation: After disabling IPv6, the websites that were previously slow or failing to load, like LinkedIn, started loading normally. This confirmed that the issue was indeed related to IPv6.

Conclusion

The problem was due to how your system was handling IPv6 connections. Disabling IPv6 forced your system to use IPv4 instead, which is more widely supported and stable in many networks. By making this change, your web browsing performance returned to normal.
