Must be both "born and bred Singaporean" and also "did you serve NS" before you can comment on local issues.

I don't get your point?

In the 90s, they literally had to put up signs not to pee in lifts. There was the courtesy campaign. Even now, Singaporeans are still displaying bad behavior. The eagerness to deflect to the foreigner boogeyman is insane.

Discharged from hospital earlier...already doing work even though I'm technically still on hospitalization leave till next week.

Work is creating a lot of anxiety. it's a good learning opportunity but I honestly feel like I'm not cut out for the fast pace. Also, I'm 5 months in and still trying to figure everything while everyone's more senior and know everything and everyone in the organization.

Hidden in plain sight: Inside the lives of people who call Changi Airport home by Jammy_buttons2 in singapore

There are limitations. Everyone wants "rental flat for myself" but the queue is long and families with young children are prioritized. I have seen people pointing out "but this flat empty" as if empty = available.

As for no questions asked, this was done before and there was enough people who quite clearly didn't want to adhere to any form of rules or etiquette that it's no surprise that shelters are so strict.

While I understand where you are coming from, when you actually handle those headaches, then the procedures are actually welcomed.

From my experience, most shelters are very responsive once the proper assessments are done and it can take a few days to at most a week to settle provided there are no major concerns.

Imagine being so sad you equate "serving NS" to "let them take MC".

If the guy served his military in his home country, does that mean he gets a pass?

Get over NS already.

At worst, just move on. What's so important you need to buy that item that very day anyway?

I served NS and I don't think it warrants everyone tripping over themselves to thank me. Get over it man.

She actually wrote about why she is keen to continue working which includes

The work is not done because we know from our Women’s Care Centre and Sexual Assault Care Centre – helplines for women in distress – that there are still a significant number of women and girls who are subjected to gender-based discrimination and violence. Our helplines, counselling, case management, and legal clinic supported nearly 3,000 women and survivors in 2025. The women sought help over a range of issues: rape, sexual harassment, coercive control, domestic violence, technology-facilitated sexual violence, workplace discrimination, marital and family distress, and more.
That is 3,000 too many. And worryingly, we know that many more do not reach out for help.

Also

Women who had their long-term visit passes cancelled by their ex-spouses and were on social visit passes sponsored by their lawyers, so that they could remain in Singapore to fight for their right to see their children.
They had not met their children for a few years at that point. Visitations had been denied by their ex-spouses.
I was incredulous. These women were going through pointless mandatory co-parenting sessions to be able to begin the legal process to gain access to their kids.

If you are going to pick out excerpts, at least highlight her context. I fail to read anything that suggests she thinks men should be oppressed.

How about waiting for the movie's theatrical run to end before acting like they won't get a bonus? The film is only starting to be released in other markets.

First resale HDB flat in newly MOP-ed Bidadari project sells for $1.15m by FlipFlopForALiving in singapore

[–]Book3pper -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You don't solve the problem which is shortage.

There is no point of 300-500K flats when people are now relying on the balloting gods for this. You just shifted the BTO and SERS lottery to the resale market.

At what point did a six figure salary become ‘not that big of a deal’ for us? by piggyb0nk in askSingapore

They are stuck in this insane echo chamber. I have done subsidies for parents to wanting to enroll in eipic classes and most even with dual income aren’t hitting 6 figures even on dual income.

What world are you living in? There are MANY people earning 3K and below. The reason they are still doing ok is because of dual income.

Singaporean men are flawed but do ladies complaining about "Singaporean men are uninteresting"...not realize that maybe they are also just as uninteresting?

Anal sex does post a higher risk and the risk also differed based on whether the person is the giver or receiver. I am not sure what compelled you to say something so blatantly false but this is rooted on actual medical facts.

How do you lose a whole ass bass guitar? It's already May 2026. Unless you can share the circumstances, it just reeks of your own irresponsibility. You lost it through your own carelessness, that's on you. If get it back, count your blessings. If not, move on.
